My favourite, and I hope this doesn't belittle the thread at all, was that story of the guy (sorry, I can't remember his name or the thread link) where his brother and his wife were killed in a car crash and he and his wife took in his nephew.

A fabulous read from start to finish (and ongoing) which makes you realise the good in the world.

I believe there was a spin off thread (I think) where he was asking how to introduce his dog to the little lad (which, I think, went just fine).
