Still reasonably warm here in the south, the youngest (daughter) is off to uni tomorrow so it'll only be the wife who I have to battle with when it comes to the heating being put on.

Fired mine up off the back of this thread, mainly to ensure no issues with it before I actually need it. Pleased to report all seems to be well, it's back off again for now.

P.S. Still haven't found a solution for our office temps. One of the issues is that some people turn it off, it then gets too stuffy so others turn it on... With this happening all day there seems to be a build-up of some sort resulting in the A/C smelling like cats' piss when it's turned back on. Genuinely grim.

The easiest solution would be for the cold people to work up where we are (where the sun beats down through the floor-to-ceiling windows all day) and for us who find it too warm to move to the northern side but unfortunately it's not my call.

right now at 4am, Outside is 10.5; downstairs rooms around 18c each - even the kitchen floor which has a sensor under the tiles is 19c. The upstairs rooms between 19 and 20.
Aiming for end of October before it goes back on - usually give in once the downstairs gets to about 17 of an evening as it seems churlish!

I do have a fleece style blanket downstairs, which I have started using again in the last couple of weeks which keeps you cosy without needing to heat the room as much when it is cold.

Right now my living room is 17 degrees, and upstairs 16 degrees. Heating going on when I get back.

Not yet. I'd like to get to October before it goes on, but will see. Since we had the cavity walls and loft insulation done the house feels much warmer. Last year the heating was on before mid September.

Bottled it and put it on yesterday .... prefer to hang on until October

Down to 15.7 on Hive and it felt a chilly

Only problem is that the new en-suite towel rail is not getting hot. Full of water and water circulating noises heard.

Will have the play about with turning everything other rad off

Still 21 degrees in the house here, supposed to be sunny next week so doubt it'll be going on for a while yet.

Don’t you people have thermostats?

I don’t think the heating has ever been turned off since I moved in in 2001!

Just turned mine on today, and then happened to notice this thread.

It dipped to 16c in my house, and for the first time in months I felt chilly, so on it went.

Have the fire on today, as it's chilly in the lounge and the weather outside is definitely autumnal. 9 degrees according to the car.

Plus there's a nice roast lined up for later so why not.

I put it on earlier to dry my cycling kit, I think I’ll give the system a blast tonight, if anything’s failed, it’s best to find out now.
