Interesting thread and great to read peoples experiences! I've never had anything happen to me so I'm a bit of a sceptic, but have heard many stories, and one particular one from my sister makes hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

Both my sister and I used to be Barristers Clerks (at different chambers) and frequently visited the Royal Courts of Justice. She told me as soon as this happened as she was petrified; she was over at the RCJ and had popped to the loo in the Thomas Moore building which is supposedly (I don't know how true this is and could be completely wrong, but nonetheless...) built on the site where they used to hang people. She'd done her business and was washing her hands when one of the cubicle doors started slamming violently over and over - there were no other people in the toilet, no windows, no draft etc - so obviously she absolutely shat herself and bolted!

Very weird, no?!

Twiggy, I seem to recall we've clashed before in these kind of threads. You said that you'd had things happen to you which you couldn't explain, but you didn't go down the woo route for obvious reasons.

Out of interest, what were they?

Genuinely interested.

Well, this thread is a near-perfect allegory for the post-truth, social media echo chamber society we live in.

Any challenge (to a fairly absurd position, IMO) is met with no debate or logical argument but instead anger. Even to the point of a poster effectively saying "it suits me to believe in this despite evidence to the contrary so I shan't listen"

Dissenters are asked to leave the thread and go somewhere else for dating to challenge.

It's pathetic. It's why Donald Trump won. People are just unwilling to engage with anything that runs contra to their preferred view and that's terrifying. Positively Orwellian.

Indeed, I as a serious sceptic on all things 'woo' I was expecting to come to this thread read some possibly entertaining 'ghost' stories and possibly (if I had any ideas) offer some hypothesis or my interpritation on the subject but for the most part all I have found is anger and bickering. A healthy debate is good but once it descends into a full blown argument it’s pointless, it’s why I didn’t take part in any of the BREXIT threads; full or bickering ‘BREXIT wkers’ and ‘Remoaners’ with those that wanted to have a normal discussion pushed to the edges.

Well it is quite odd she managed it so soon after going, yes tongue out, although a paranormal laxative is stretching things just a tad too far. You'se must think were nuts hehe

Well I told the story earlier in the thread about the dream, but I found a rational explanation for that.

That was the biggest thing. But the usual stuff of stuff being in a different place to where I was sure I left it, when no one else was around. I put this down to human (my) error.

And of course the person calling me up when I was just thinking or talking about them (confirmation bias).

I "psychic" aunt one told me I'd soon be coming into money and that night I shagged a girl called Penny.

I think it's more the case that people are unwilling to engage with people who continue to shout them down, ignore their concerns / thoughts and label them as stupid / racist / any other ism. The sooner people grasp this the better, then Trump and co really will be finished.

Plus, as this thread seems a good example, people don't always want to have to debate everything all the time. Pretty sure the OP just wanted to get some stories / examples rather than force some 'debate' about the truth of such things (happy for Halb to correct me on this though). There is such a thing as a time and a place - not sure this is it, as evidenced by the growing frustration in the replies.

No there aren't. Themselves I said.

Why is it people just don't get this. Either they're playing devils advocate for cheap laughs, have had very narrow lives and rarely actually talk to others, or are thick. Possibly all three.
Here is a guy who films himself getting stung by all manner of things.

And a bee is a physical object we can actually see, hold and feel.

This thread is hilarious. One person experiencing something without proper evidence is no evidence or proof of anything. The mind can do plenty of vision altering things on its own for a number of reasons. There is zero recorded evidence of anything paranormal happening therefore in scientific terms (which everyone should consider as being the only terms for things happening) it has not occured.

'I have experienced it therefore it has happened' is a laughable notion.

Funny how billions of people have lived and only 'Joey Mentalist' has only ever seen a door move, a wierd trick of the light or an 'unexplained' cold draft in his house. Must be paranormal.

Given that the OP has been on here for 7 years and has over 30k posts I'd expect them to know exactly how a thread like this would go. Same as all the other ones!

If you just want to talk about one thing that's controversial without people questioning your views this is not the site for it. Same for keeping a thread on topic for more than one page.

Why not just go on the internet and read some fiction anywhere? Without proof that is all these stories are. Goosebumps is just as logical to want to read things like that...

I hadnt even read the whole thread nor your comment I was making a general point. Nice to know the people who associate themselves as being 'Joey Mentalist' without prompting though!

I also get a fair bit of orb activity when I play music in the house. Only to certain tunes though, and they aren't usually visible to the eye, only through my phone.

To some, these are easily dismissed as dust particles, but there's just something about the way they move that makes me think otherwise.

I'll try and capture a few the next time I have a bit of a dj session.
A camera lens can be a complex bit of engineering and the way light is dealt with by lens and software can have interesting effects especially when dust gets in the way. My money is on dust or distortion or both and perhaps the volume..
I thought there hadn't been very much activity from them at all after Toxygene, TBH.

Not really your entire thought process is a fairly big joke so I cant compete.
Ok, run along now.
