Was shocked how old he was - and James Bowlam.

Loved that show.

Great legacy.

Sad to hear about Rodney. He did a one man show at Edinburgh Festival either this year or last year,,. RIP

Pity he never managed to.patch things up with James Bolam.

One of the symbols of my youth gone. Look on the bright side, Little Jimmy Osmond is still with us.

Apparently wasn't through lack of trying!

Such a shame although he had a decent innings. Might have a pint in the converted waiting room which is now a micro-pub on Doncaster railway station in his honour when I'm there on Tuesday. Wonder if he managed to avoid finding out the England-Hungary score right to the end.

Classic - if you don't want to know the score, look away now... biggrin

Just read that.... very strange circumstances.
Ooh, Bell & Covill are just down the road from me.
I'm from the village where the dealership is based. At the age of 12 Bell & Colvill gave me my first job cleaning all their service cars, I'm almost completely sure that my love of cars came from this Saturday job.

RIP

Likewise, I'm just up in Leatherhead and drive past a few times a week.

Bobby Bell had a reputation as a decent bloke. My elder lad called in one roasting hot summer day on his bike on the way back from sixth form in Guildford, just to have a look around, and got a full tour with tons of technical detail from the big cheese himself, lasting around two hours, one enthusiast to another... he could see my son was not going to be a prospective customer for some years yet, but still took the time.
