31 year old, father of two, Dan Hegarty.

Also, read Hitchens’ Mortality in one hit this week and all of sudden I’m thinking of death a lot more these days...!

I thought the TV program was really well done with a lovely piece by the presenter. A fitting treatment.

Is it time for the 2018 thread yet?

I'm down for Clint Eastwood again so he has another year of health and happiness.

Not at 180mph between barriers and hedges, he probably lived more in one lap than one month in ours. A heartfelt adios from me and mine and a huge amount of respect to his friends and family to a man who inspired us both thumbup

Johnny Halliday.

Not that well known in the English speaking world but he was huge in France during the 1960s. He was the French equivalent of Elvis or Cliff.

It feels odd to admit - but I was actually a DJ in France in the early 80's. God knows why.... anyway, I've said it now.

The nightclub owner INSISTED that every 7th record should be a Johnny Halliday record. Jebus! It was utter rubbish - the early 80's, whilst sounding dated now, was a brilliant time for disco music - and then the vibe that was built had to killed by Johnny Halliday. So I actually hated him. Properly.

Sad he's gone. But hated him too.

He was a bit of a rock and roll copycat - but then so were many of the early Brit rock and roll singers - Marty Wilde, Tommy Steele,, Billy Furey and even Cliff.
