Blimey two more from my past that I had met through work or in worked with .
Hywell Bennett was in The Virgin Soldiers, I was an extra in the scenes filmed in Singapore. I was in the film but too young to see it when it was released as it was classed as an 18.
Met Robert Hardy several times at RANK FILMS in Denham when I worked on security there .We clashed on most of his visits !

Hardy had a reputation for being a bit of a grumpy old bugger.

But he was a great actor.

I'm surprised he didn't get the role of Fletcher in "Porridge".

So you may not know it but you have been in a film with a late rock icon doing a bit part in his early days too? Any idea who?

I have a very, very slight personal connection here - I saw her in a cafe on my first trip to London, for the Earl's Court Motorcycle Show, in 1970.

Deborah Watling (69), daughter of actor Jack Watling, and Doctor Who companion in the Patrick Troughton/Frazer Hines years, died last month.

I was prompted to look her up on IMDB when I caught an episode of Danger UXB this morning.

She was in 'That'll be the Day' with David Essex.

When the film came out, tights had taken over from stockings, and during the seduction scene with her and Essex in the chalet, there was a very audible sigh of nostalgia from us of a more mature age when his hand got to the 'giggle band' on her stocking.

We called it the giggle band because if you got past it, you were laughin''

Nice looking girl as well

Glen Campbell, what a talent.

I will be performing all four songs of his that I do tonight in tribute.
