Do you use a fountain pen?

I've just bought 4 different coloured Jinhao 250's from Amazon for £9 total, with same day delivery. For everyday office pens which I'll inevitably lose/give away, it's criminal not to.
I've filled each with a different colour ink which makes marking up technical drawings a doddle.
They are excellent value, and the cynic in me says that they shouldnt work well if they are so cheap, but they do. The 250 normally has a Fine nib, probably a plus point for marking up drawings.I've filled each with a different colour ink which makes marking up technical drawings a doddle.
It isnt too difficult to take a Dremmel and produce other shaped nibs such as an obliqueif you wanted something different.
My latest purchase - Stypen cartridge pen for £8 including delivery.
It's nothing special - basically a cheap run of the mill pen from the late 70s / early 80s, but I had to get it as it's identical to my first ever fountain pen which I used for years through school.

Some more pen purchases from eBay just in.
First up is a Parker IM Premium in Chiselled Deep Gunmetal, which I mentioned earlier in the thread.
The chiselled gunmetal is quite pleasing, although is a little gloss for my tastes. The section has a nice brushed steel effect which is much nicer.
It came without a converter, but I had a spare one which I put in it. It writes well enough, but it is not an instant fave and I could happily be without it.
The other purchase, which I also mentioned earlier in the thread, was a mis-matched Parker Flighter set.
The ballpoint is a Parker 45, and is pretty much identical to one I already own. This one is marked "T" which is 4th quarter 1995, whilst my existing one is marked "IN" which makes it 3rd quarter 1989.
The fountain pen turns out to be a Parker 15 (thanks Rob). It's a nice little school pen, which seems to be well made and writes really well with a smooth even flow and no scratching. I really like it. It's marked "IIP" which would make it 2nd quarter 1997.
At £10, I consider that a lovely little pen with a free 45 ballpoint and box. Shame about the "FG" engraved onto it though.
Incidentally, if you want to date a Parker then check out this handy web page - https://parkerpens.net/codekey.html

I havent seen one of those before, seen their long cartridges but not the pen, noted it has a Parker box - perhaps for the Vector. It's nothing special - basically a cheap run of the mill pen from the late 70s / early 80s, but I had to get it as it's identical to my first ever fountain pen which I used for years through school.

And, finally on this round of eBay purchases, a Mabie Todd "Fyne Poynt" mechanical pencil to go with my "Swan" fountain pen.
No hallmarks, so age indeterminate, and I don't think the mechanism works as the end just turns indefinitely without coming to an end stop. But for £7.98 including postage I think I got a bargain.

The end cap isnt pushed home, push it down a little further and see if that helps.
If not pull the cap off, the cap has a gear (cannot think of a better word) that engages with another gear on the mechanism, from what I can see it looks like it needs a clean, and it could be that the two are just slipping, clean the teeth with a toothbrush (what else) and some meths or a solvent.
Try turning the gear on the barrel fully anti clockwise and see if there is movement, then turn fully clockwise and you should see a little metal thing - sorry I dont know any of the proper names on pencils. There isnt a lot to go wrong on these mechanical pencils other than a piece of lead getting stuck.
This may be a scam but I cannot see it, and have ordered one for myself
A £155 pen on sale for £10 delivered.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007GU1VVE/ref=olp_pro...
For the record, no affiliation and I dont know the seller, please dont come to me if it falls through, as I said I have ordered one just on the basis that it is too good to miss.
I have looked through the Ts and Cs and cannot find a get out clause.
Delivery date is from August 7th on my order, fingers crossed

Amazon are usually pretty good about returns, even from Marketplace sellers, so looks worth a punt.
Could be a cheap knock-off, of course.
Its a piston filled pen which are normally too complicated to make cheaply as a fake. Could be a cheap knock-off, of course.
The pen is on sale at UK retailers at £155, so I would have thought they would be paying around £90 wholesale, £10 is a crazy price.

Yes, could be a pricing glitch. I would imagine that all orders will be cancelled.
I fear you are right, the seller has Omas at £10
TWSBI eco at £10
Biggest bargain is a Parker Duofold £400 down to £10
I have ordered the Duofold and will see what happens, I really hope there is no bigger problem apart from order cancelled here is your money back.
Anyone know how Amazon works - this is a new seller - do Amazon offer some big incentive for the first listing or something?

Duofold the biggest bargain? The Montegrappa extra they have listed is 5k+, the Tibaldi Crewe similar. Omas at £10

I suspect they have done an automated stock upload with default pricing and it has gone live prematurely.
I am expecting the worse JAYB, a friend has phoned Amazon and asked about the seller, they have confirmed all is fine and that the amazon guarantee will of course apply. I am more of an 'in writing' person so have sent Amazon an email with the question - 'How can this be genuine'
His stock is all extremely cheap, below the price that it could be bought for but for £20 secured by a guarantee I am working on the basis, I hope, that I havent got anything to lose.
