Anyone into trainers/sneakers?
Discussion
Hi guys; a few questions, if I may...
I’ve recently gone through an insane episode of buying loads of trainers - have some time on my hands. Anyway...I had a pair of Air Max 90s and a pair of Air Max 95s turn up together.
1) when I picked up the Air Max 95, I thought they were quite heavy shoes (compared to other trainers). Is the 95 generally known as being a heavyweight or is that just me?
2) the 90s are a 10. The 95s a size 9.5. Side by side the 95s dwarf the 90s and feel much roomier. Not a problem for me, but out of curiosity I thought Nike were a consistent sizer across their ranges (past/present/future), so anything I’m missing or could get some education on?
3) my needless expenditure tends to go to cars or holiday homes, but this sneaker game is a proper wallet drainer! As soon as I started looking properly at what I wanted it was hard to escape the bewildering array of re-releases, nicknames and the rest. Will Nike (in particular) give the whole reissue thing a rest at some point as just a current trend or is this the way sneaker purchasing just is these days? If I go “1 to rock, 1 for stock’, I’ll be out of storage quickly. In essence what’s Nike’s strategy? Mainstream trainers released each year for genpop in parallel with rereleases of choice ‘classics’?
TIA for the patience and any answers/opinions. I normally wear suede Eton loafers, so I’m a comparative redneck when it comes to trainers.
I would link up pictures but (ironically) I’m useless at it these days. I do enjoy the thread. Am currently about halfway through and it’s a great read, but had some burning questions...

I like the aqua/teal Air Max2 lights that came out, and I don’t mind the nite joggers either. But again, not enough to buy. Took an L on the pigeons annoyingly, had a pair sorted until someone decided to resell them... but they were more a collection piece to fit in, I didn’t think they were an absolute must have due to the boring upper.
Pretty sure the Brussels will be coming for a giveaway as loads of followers are all over them, but there’s a slight thing with the sole tooling for me... I’d rather have the koln/Dublin sole on them, but maybe I’m just being picky?
Would love some Quotooles, I think a 7.5 would be a bit too snug though. I tend to be an 8 in Adidas unless it’s a weird size - thanks for the heads up though

Air Max 720 now showing on SNEAKRS for 1st of February.
Still not 100% on the style of them, I do like the colour though. Oh I’ve got a question about your NFR’s, has the printed text inside the shoe kept intact after wearing them? The insole text doesn’t last 5 mins on most of my Nikes so was wondering if that has the same issue.
I really want a pair of Air Max 270, but everyone, their grannies, and their grannie’s dug has them.
Ditto vapormax
I’m not saying I’m leading the cutting edge of fashion, but equally, I hate feeling like a sheep. Oddly though, I don’t feel that way about converse all stars, which are way more ubiquitous. I suspect it’s down to the demographic I see wearing the 270s & Vapormax…
