And today's outlook. Hoping it holds off as I have beef ribs to slow cook on the BBQ! Some cells popping up around McElliott which I suspect will hit Thames Valley...

It was a great storm to watch - someone took this excellent picture from Eastbourne last night.

It was a doozy of a storm last night; here in Ashford (Kent) I don't think we got as much of the rain, but I was certainly enjoying lying in bed listening to it all until there was a flash almost directly overhead of me and wow, it was loud!

Massive huge storm passes over South West on Friday, not a thing in the press.

Massive huge storm passes over South East last night, world has ended in the press.

Are there any signs that we might have a reasonable summer this year?

I spent the weekend camping at a festival in the Cotswolds.

It was the first outing for our new tent. When I opened the instructions (obviously something I'd not done before getting there), it said "before using the tent for the first time, you should assemble and soak it thoroughly with a hosepipe". Apparently this is to ensure that the cotton threads in the seams can get soaked, expand and properly seal up the seams, and only needs to be done once.

Oh well, nothing I could do about it then... At around 04:30 on Saturday morning it absolutely hammered it down for an hour or more! Woke up to find a couple of spoonfuls of water in the tent where one seam had leaked a little during the sealing process, but other than that, I can't imagine ever getting a better timed thunder storm whilst camping! We took the tent down on Sunday morning bone dry, and then had a brief rain shower of the sort that would've driven me nuts if I hadn't already got the tent in its bag!

I dread to think how the weather gods will take their revenge on any of the four remaining occasions I've got in a tent between now and the end of the summer! hehe

Say it'll be terrible, then if you're wrong, it's happy days!

Another pleasantly warm week (in the South, anyway), relatively settled but some cloud. A repeat of next week, when the Atlantic comes back in at the weekend. Potential for thunder, certainly some rain.

They were, one of which was mine telling some muppet to 'go away' for trolling.

Bit of a strange one tomorrow, the far SE and East Anglia have potential to hit 28oC - versus something like 17oC in the West, with a band of Atlantic rain travelling west to east and fizzling out.

Potential for severe storms in the hot eastern areas.
