Cracking stuff! At least whilst he's wasting time with you it's reducing his available time to scan others.

Tell him you've just won the lottery and therefore you no longer need the money.
After all the effort he has gone to it would be nice if you offered to send him a 'box of cash' as a kind consideration for all that he has tried to do for you. Obviously there will a small fee required for delivery of the 'money'...
This is where they go for the loot -

I believe that all is clear to you and i need you to get back to me at once if you are ready to meet up with the demand because once i have the money now and pay for the clearing charges And Stamp Duty, the box will be released to me and i will start coming at once.

Well he will "Start cumming at once"

You must say he does have a sense of humor

How about telling captain George that you don't trust diplomat Dave. See if you can get George to agree to cut Dave out of the deal, you send the money to George in Spain. George collects the box and you split Dave's share between you...

So Captain George has replied..

============

Hello Steve

Since I sent you the mail I have been thinking am just confused and worried, I don't know if you can contact the diplomat tell him how much you have to see if he can help us . i will wait your response.....What do you suggest steve?

============

So I've suggested this to him.

============

Hi George,

I too am confused and worried, so worried that I got very little sleep last night. These charges have came out of the blue and were not expected; they certainly weren't mentioned in your emails and had they been I would not have agreed to assist you. I knew what financial state I was in; remember, I was selling my car as I don't have this sort of money.

I realise that once I have the box my money worries will be over which is why I'm still keen to proceed and assist you, but my money position at this time without the car being sold is problematic and I definitely don't have enough funds in my bank account to pay the duties. I've recounted what money I can pull together (emptying a savings account I have) and I'm actually more than the £200 short I thought I was; this is because I forgot my mortgage payment is due out on the 7th of this month, so I'm about £900 short.

I either need the car sold now or someone to pay some money into my account to assist - would you be able to assist with the latter ? I realise that this rather cheeky of me but it would assist in getting your box/money out quicker otherwise it'll be another month until my salary is paid in and I'll have enough money to proceed. From what I've read Diplomat David is keen to proceed.

If you can assist - I can send you bank details.

Please please let me know.

Regards
Steve

============

Diplomat Dave also replied; note the slight push towards pressure of even more duties payable if the box is there for longer

============

Seen your wife will be a problem because the box cant be handed to your wife but only you because your name and information was tagged there as the beneficiary not your wife.

Again have in mind that after 24hours of box arrival it attract more money, so i wish you let me know when you are sending the money but if not possible let me know so that i can let them know for the to keep your box in a safe place will you come for payment .

I wait ti hear from you.

============

So I've shot Diplomat Dave this.

============

David,

She's not going to collect the box, I thought that was your task. She's going with you to pay the duties that are payable and then accept it on my behalf as we both have power of attorney of each other so she can sign on my behalf making the whole process somewhat swifter as we're keen to get our hands on the box.

I'm in the process of pulling together the funds to pay these unexpected duties but I'm currently running short of the total required. We're trying to sell our car to help fund these charges. Don't suppose I can interest you in a lovely honest Subaru WRX ?

I'm currently seeking assistance with the shortfall and will advise asap.

Regards
Steve

We'll see what they come up with for transfers but I'll guarantee it now that it'll be through Western Union

===========

He's keen to get his hands on my money, now consider if this was your parents or someone who was easily led; the application of pressure here as well as pity you're being forced to feel would potentially cause them to part with not an inconsiderable amount of money. bds.

Anyway - both of them replied within 5 minutes of each other. Firstly Captain George

===========

Hello Steve
I read your mail and i understand you but what you say baffles me in your mail. How do you want me to understand all these position of yours.Honestly I never knew that any other upfront payment will emerge. If we do not pay this fees it means that the box will not get to you. So should i take it to be that i have lost the box? because of your inabilities to pay the fees, please steve I urge you go out and borrow this money from friends or relatives and send it to the diplomat so that the box can get to you, that is all i ask of you i promise to give you the pin code of the box so that you can open it and take out money from the box when it gets to you and offset the bills Please I beg you Steve because all I have entrusted in your hands , really I am confused and worried I don't know how to handle this now .

===========

So I've sent him this.

===========

George,

Yes it's my inability to pay the fees which is stopping us receiving the box; however don't put all the blame on me - you're the one that chose this method to ship the box out of the country, you're the one that got Diplomat David involved, you're the one that decided that the Red Cross agent could be trusted, not me. You should have checked to see what duties/fees were payable prior to deciding. So if you're looking for someone to blame - blame yourself, not me.

I'm just trying to assist you as it's the Christian and right thing to do.

In fact; your attitude of blaming me has annoyed me so much I'm thinking I don't want any more to do with this.

Regards
Steve

===========

Diplomat Dave also emailed

===========

I received your mail and want you to know that the box can only be handed over to you as the rules because you are the beneficiary of the box and if you do not have the total money let me know how much you have so that you can pay in so that you will not be requested to pay extra fees.

I need your urgent reply because i have appointment with them today.

===========

So I fired off this to him, note the friendly name smile

===========

Diplomat Dave,

I'm currently reconsidering my involvement with this whole shipment due to the problems.

I'll be in touch

Regards
Steve

===========

I'm expecting an apologetic note from Capt George and some pressure from Dip Dave

I'm loving this smile

Slightly off topic - Wasn't there someone that took this to the Nth degree and actually went out to meet the scammers or something - I may have imagined that one though. Or hoped someone would do it....

They really need to improve the Scammer training courses. On the one hand, their target is not able to scrape together the admin fee - on the other hand, his wife is at their private villa for spring break and he's happy to book a flight on Saturday if they want. Alarm bells should be ringing on their end!

I'm looking forward to the next installment. I'm feeling a bit sorry for George though - he trusted you, and you're letting him down and blaming him. Poor George....
