Yahoo are on the ball - I send their abuse department an email with a link to this thread.

Diplomat Dave's email is no more. cool

Outlook haven't responded so quickly as it seems George's is still active.

I really wish I had the time to bait him, but I've had a load of court claims for parking tickets come through that need my full attention at work.

Besides, it has come through on an email address that I only use for an old ebay account so I'm slightly concerned how it has got out into the wild....

I'll let someone else take the lead on the next one then.

So while George's email is still active, I, as well as others on this thread were inquisitive on his actual reasoning behind the need to scam innocent people out of their money so I dropped him an email to see if it was still active, it was since Outlook haven't closed it down yet. I got a reply.

======

Steve you played me , what do you want from me am not a fool or is it the way you want to use and steal my money with the diplomat you both I don't trust now.

======

Fair play that's he's staying in character, so I cut to the chase

======

George/Ibiateli,

Let's cut through the bullst -

From an interest perspective I'd like to know why you think stealing money from people is acceptable; especially from those that can ill afford it..

What gain are we talking about - What's your average payout and how frequently ?

Regards

Steve.

He replies

if you want to help me you do , I do these because , I want to go to school and I have no one and no money to be what I want as an orphan, that is why I do these.

So I fire off a reply

biateli,

I'd hoped for an honest answer but it seems you're lying again.

So let me get this straight - you want to take peoples hard earned money just because you want to go to school. Pull the other one. Being an orphan is nothing to do with it and you've got no money because you're lazy and just another scamming Nigerian tt.

If you got yourself a proper job you'd have money but you can't get a job in Alicante can you; this would be because your Spanish visa on your Nigerian Passport (X5611583C) to stay in Puerto Del Rosario, Alicante was revoked way back in 2009.

Your criminal activities do nothing for the perception of Nigerians and West Africans abroad; it's a sad reflection of your national through people like yourself that the first thing you think of when you think of a Nigerian is that they're on the make and out to scam you. I've got to say I've met very few honest Nigerians; even during my time in Lagos and Port Harcourt.

If you can be bothered replying I'd love to know on how many of your scams actually work (on say a per month basis) and what your average take is.

Try and be honest in your reply for once.

Regards
Steve

I agree. He needs to go back to school.*

  • Tbh, my spelling and grammar are so bad I should also enroll. I blame it on the dyslexia and aspergers.

On the subject of why they do it :

My mate had one of the scam calls a year or so back. He made it clear from the start he was aware it was a scam but rather than the typical action of hanging up the scammer had a reasonably civil conversation with my mate for about 5 minutes.

My mate asked why they do it, particularly given that if any half decent person met them and knew what they did, it would end very badly for the scammer. The answer was simply that westerners are rich, and can afford to lose it (his scammer was further west than Nigeria).

Although it obviously requires dubious morals to start with, I suspect there is a core element of truth there. Stereotypically, we have it and they want some - even though in the real world it's clearly not always the case and typically it's the vulnerable getting scammed.
