(Is this thread proof of resurrection?).

So what was the plausible explanation for this one? :

Sea Of Souls

Real life reported cases of paranormal activity from around the world

Case One
Twin Telepathy: The Jim Twins

One of the most famously documented cases of paranormal research, the Jim Twins, highlighted the notion that identical twins are linked in a unique way beyond genetics.

Soon after their birth in 1940, American identical twins Jim Springer and Jim Lewis were adopted by different families and never knew of each other's existence until they were reunited 39 years later.

In 1979 there were only 19 reported cases of reunited twins so for psychologist Thomas Bouchard - the man who studied the Jim twins' special connection - the reunion offered a rare opportunity to examine important questions about nature versus nurture.

The similarities in the men's lives were nothing short of astonishing. Aside from the fact that they were both named Jim by their adoptive parents, the twins had both married twice – the first time to women named Linda and the second to women called Betty.

Jim Springer named his son James Allen whilst Jim Lewis called his son James Alan. They both had dogs named Toy, both spent time as sheriff's deputies, they drank the same beer, smoked the same cigarettes and drove the same model of car – a Chevrolet.

Their bond as brothers apparently extended far beyond shared genes.

It's a myth that science / maths / physics says the bumble bee can't fly. Trotted out by the gullible and creationist fools as a way of saying "you can't trust science or evolution theory".

Utterly pathetic, and quite depressing that in 2017 people are still buying into the "physics says the bumble bee can't fly" myth.

I'm pleased to say that I've never even heard that particular brand of bullst before. How daft do you have to be to think that a bee defies the laws of physics?? And then use it as the basis of an argument for the existence of ghosts?? rofl

Just incredible.

The "physics says bumble bees can't fly" nonsense has been around for years. Probably started due to the fact that a bumble bee isn't a traditional shape for a flying thing. Mind you, neither is a stag beetle.

But you're right, it's quite unbelievable that grown adults swallow this tripe. Like humans can get jumbo jets into the sky, but apparently no one could figure out how a bee can fly. Ffs........seriously???

Yep, seriously. Finally worked out in 2005. So much for science, eh?

What, like getting the answer. As opposed to "god did it" or "supernatural innit". Must be ghosts.
Lesson 1...if science doesn't give an answer...do more science.

I'm not a scientist but can I have a go at guessing the answer?

Is it "it turns out the bee moves it's wings, and with enough speed to overcome it's mass and take off"??

As a secondary bonus point, is the truth actually that science knew this long before 2005 but simply didn't have the means to test it accurately (perhaps high speed cameras or similar) so didn't publish it definitively until they were sure?

That or they thought bees were ghosts.

Unless ghosts or some other paranormal being gave us the answer, then science has triumphed once again. So much for the power of belief.

I'd like to point you back to the link you so helpfully posted earlier on.

drainbrain's link said:
  • Remember that ghosts aren't real.
  • Even if you believed that ghosts were real, they are immaterial beings without physical bodies. Therefore, there is no way that a ghost (if it were real) could actually harm you or anyone else.
  • Your fears are most likely linked to some deeper, underlying anxiety that you haven't fully addressed. Managing your anxiety will help you feel safer and break out of your fear of ghosts.
I've highlighted the pertinent bits as they are repeating the same things the other normal, rational people on the this thread have been saying from the start.

No, they thought it was the ghosts of dead bees helping to hold up the living ones.

Don't get so excited guys, its only a light hearted forum subject, ..unless its your fear and prejudice that is making you jump on this subject with both feet. smile

Thank God none of you work for healthcare in a scientific capacity or we'd still be bloodletting with leeches! wink

Now I'm going to have to assume that you're trolling. Unless you do actually believe that scientific advancement comes from ignoring reason, logic and mathematics rather than the rigorous and correct application of it, in which case, good luck to you sir!

Don't quite understand this analogy, how would lack of belief in the supernatural prohibit advances in science?

Makes sense. That's why they call it the Dead Sea, in Israel, the one where it's impossible to sink. So named because of a higher number than average ghosts. Nothing to do with the high salt content or any other scientific rubbish. .

You can't entertain or come up with new ideas unless you are uncritically open to believing any old crap.

"Me, being a person of science, can't see any logical explanation to how it's possible for a 'spirit' to have moved them"

I don't think being a person of science precludes you from keeping an open mind - obviously what science has discovered in the short time that human beings have been around is tiny - We don't understand a fraction of what is going on in the universe and science is just starting to develop theories of multiple universes, for example.

Having said that, there is a load of obvious supernatural bunkum, but this does not mean there is no truth to any of it - and there a plenty of pictures on-line of what could be called "ghosts"

I have had experiences of things "moving" that can't really be explained away and other strange synchronicities - there is certainly more the this world than the material!
