On that note, can someone explain the insult Social Justice Warrior to me? Maybe I'm thick (its entirely possible) but why is 'social justice' such a bad thing as to be worthy of derision?
Of itself, it isn't. But the 'warriors' are broken people who do serious harm.

Try some of @sjw_nonsense to get an idea.

I've forgotten most of them now (only taken 20+ years) and had to Google those two, but did know that XYZ was somewhere in Canada.

Keeping the IT theme alive.
Stuff like this is truly horrendous, "awards for <fill in your own section of the IT market here>"
In this case it's Fintech - technology used in financial services.

Awards ? FFS give me strength.
"And now, the best function written in C# this year goes to...."

At the risk of walting out slightly, an oddity of the official secrets act is it automatically applies to people who work for the government, but is only applicable to others if they're specifically notified, hence the signing to say you're aware of it, rather than something like the homicide act that covers everyone.

Agree that the occasional "I've signed the official secrets act" comments on here are very cringe inducing.
Quick glance at the Wiki "The offences under sections 5(2), 5(6), 6(2), 8(4), 8(5) and 8(6) can be committed by any person." Sections 1-4 don't apply to members of the public because by definition they are members of the public.

Anyway, we're veering off course here!

I'll add a new one (if it hasn't been done over the last 6 pages).

People who make topics on 'i sold a car privately and now the buyer wants money back/money for repairs'. its worse when it's someone who's posted several times before/for several months. I feel as though there should be a sticky/faq about it and whenever someone makes a topic mod posts a link to it and closes the topic.

Even worse are the ones where they have obviously purchased them from an auction to make a fast buck. Say they have done this numerous times before without problems but deny that they are trading.

I find it a bit cringey when PH members use their username when referring to their wife or partner...

e.g. "..Mrs Lord Trumpton"

Just to add if I were to make reference to my wife in a forum thread; it would be 'Lady Trumpton'! smile

or living in a city less likely to own a car therefore a higher percentage of non city dwellers on ph. i live in the countryside, wouldn't dream of living in the city.

Villages full of mx-5s and saabs being driven so carefully to the speed limit and showing no aggression or anger if someone else is driving like a Bellend. Whilst driving, the humble millionaires are planning their next Rolex purchase for the wife and how to expand their already vastly susccessful business.

And of course all this is done while laughing at anyone daft enough to drive a BMW/Audi/merc on finance and being so ste with money that they have a mortgage above the age of 30.
