After years of working with Middle East clients, who expect you to be at work when they are, it becomes a difficult habit to break.

Like spooning a human, but replace the little-spoon human with a West Highland Terrier...

Up since 430am. 7 month old son + house that's freezing in winter and a furnace in summer = up with the lark.

I have just finished making these for a client:

As I type he is driving to London (from Dover) to give them to his customer who can then finish building their bike for the Bike Shed Docklands exhibition which starts in seven hours!!
Very nice. Much rather be doing something like that for work, however I am a disaster with anything mechanical!
The pic doesn't really do it justice but it is one of my more interesting projects. I had a relative lie in this morning but been back on the tools since eight.

Up at 04.30 most days for work but sometimes earlier. Don't want to muck up the body clock at the weekends so normally up by 5 then.

Just filled in the timesheet for the above week...

40hrs basic
48hrs overtime + 7hrs nightwaking + 5 sleep-in shifts = £££!

By the time I get out of here Monday morning, I'll have been here for a months worth of hours in 9 days! Not awake for all of it, obviously. Tonights nightwaking entertainment included a Magnus Walker session (and PH, of course)

As HRH would say "and what do you do"?
