Asbestos? Should I be worried?
Discussion
I'm not sure if just avoiding the area is enough to be honest. Generally when you do asbestos removal it's done under sealed airpressured conditions to prevent any dust escaping.
Someone just opening the door can mobilise the particles.
I would be nowhere near that building to be honest, it's just not worth the risk.

Well, we've just been forwarded an email by our landlord from an 'asbestos specialist'.
Apparently there is less than .01% asbestos detected in the air! All is safe to work.
A certificate to confirm this is on its way!
Now we are suspicious that we saw nobody cleaning the dust up (as they reportedly did) and nobody came to any of us and said " this is an air quality meter and I'm going to measure here"!
However, it would take a pretty foolish company/individual to lie about this so it's back to work time!

That's good news OP.
You won't alway see the air monitoring, it's a small pump that sucks air for a given time and the fibres it catches are then counted. ALL respirable fibres are counted, not just asbestos.
If the results are 0.1 fibres per cubic mill of air or less, then it's given the all clear. You should be fine to return to the area.

Airborne Asbestos is usually measured by fibre count.

Unfortunately many companies in this business are here today and gone tommorrow. They reach the point where employees are impossible to find or insurance costs are sky high.
You need to think about what value you can place on a Certificate issued by such companies, it is not a guarantee or insurance.
