Is that in the same book as the Mitsubishi Pajero/Shogun faux pas?
Don't think so. The Pajero one was an oversight and genuine, (I used to have a Pajero and work with some Spanish guys. Much hilarity ensued), whereas the Starion one may or may not be true but down to pronunciation rather than translation.JM2PW.
Birmingham council have banned the word Christmas and renamed the holiday season Winterval.
Pre school teachers aren't allowed to sing innocent nursery rhymes like bah bah black sheep anymore because of the professionally offended PC brigade.
Teachers aren't allowed to call blackboard blackboards anymore, they're all called white boards, and this has nothing to do with the technology involved it's all because of the Guardian readers.
Etc... Etc...

Trickle down economics works and actually benefits wider society.
The myth is that anyone actually believed in 'Trickle down economics'. It's an imaginary theory invoked only by those who claim to be against it.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-down_economi...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_rising_tide_lifts_...
It's a practiced ideology both politically and economically - if you want an example "austerity" is it.

The first of those links shows quite clearly that 'Trickle down' is simply a term of abuse used by those opposed to tax cuts, not a theory actually advocated by anyone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-down_economi...

The second is simply the observation that economics isn't a zero sum game so the fact that something, anything, might make the rich richer doesn't mean it's bad for the poor. It isn't suggesting that allowing the rich to keep more of their cash NECESSARILY makes the poor richer as well.
Austerity is simply about trying to bring govt spending into line with revenue. Nothing to do with any 'trickle down' theory.

Not when it's couple to tax cuts for the wealthy, accelerating executive pay and a widening wealth gap/chasm.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
