Scan today the ground floor was freezing. Go up in the lift and walk into this part of the building and it is like a tropical paradise laugh

Medical reason or because the majority of staff are woman and like it like a devils lair?
I know now why some on here have recommended shorts on the maternity ward haha!
The labor floor here is so freaking cold - it feels like the a/c is cranked up to the max.
wait till you get in the postnatal area it's like a sauna. I was very much looking forward to sleeping at home.

Yep, Postnatal was roasting.. My wife hated postnatal at Frimley Park - felt left in the ward and deal with her newborn on her own as the midwives (plus agency health workers) were so short staffed they were running around between 3 wards. I wasn't allowed to stay even though we had only been moved there 1hr before the visiting hours..

Our little one is now 12.5 weeks, I think he's teething.. Appears online they can start at 3 months. He's chewing his sleeves, slightly red cheeks, if I put my finger in his mouth he bites down hard on it on his gums, quite a lot more dribbling.. Let's hope so, want to get the teething over and done with!

It's an ongoing thing. 17 month old is still at it.

36 weeks today...saw her again. Very sweet looking thing in the 4D scans.

Apparently a 5% chance of spontaneous labor in the next week...

yep, gets less frequent and they are less troubled by it as they get older but basically up to like 2.5 years old or so, maybe even 3?

My lad just got a back tooth at 28 months. He went mental/crying/stressed for a day and we had no idea why - then we noticed and it all made sense.

Do they get less upset by it as time goes on?

I think we're creating a monster as the missus picks him up when he cries, he stops in her arms but put him down and it starts again.. She says he wants comforting because of the teething frown

Don't know if you've read a few pages back, but ours is 18 (I think!) weeks now and teething also, Anbesol rubbed into her gums seems to work a treat, especially before bed, we try not to use too many 'medications' where possible, but this does help.

And we also pick her up and try to comfort her at every possible opportunity, only fair at such a young age I think, still tiny and completely bewildered by the world around them.

Amber beads also recommended for teething but we haven't tried them.

I presume you've got a teething toy to stick in his gob? Ice cold water on a muslin to suck on wrapped round your finger also soothes for a few mins.

the first 18 months of teeth is horrific. The teeth all come in in a specific order, more or less, and there tends to be a lot more of a gap when the bigger back teeth come in. Our daughter has had a long period between the last 'non-molar' come in, and any of the molars. We've had quite a break from it over the last few months, which has been very welcome. People think having a newborn is hard, but teething IMO is harder, and a lot more prolonged.

Please tell Junior PG this, she decided to grow her teeth on the left hand side of her mouth on the bottom, has waited a while, then teething right hand side top. (Other teeth starting to appear now) - Not disagreeing with you, just laughing at my own daughters lack of reading the text books!

It's the same stuff a dentist uses - lidocaine but in an alcohol base. It's topical - so it's not like paracetamol or ibuprofen and going through their whole bloodstream.

Miracle stuff for teething.

hence the 'more or less'! Meant to be due to the relative sizes of the teeth etc I think.

need to be careful with that anbesol stuff as whilst it is effective it's very hard to get the dose right as it just says a couple of drops on your finger applied to the affected area. In the middle of the night you can very easily end up sloshing it around and using far too much. This sent our kid totally hyper like she was pissed. Oops.

Your baby is due when mine is. Our baby is 'weighing big' apparently. Sweeps due in 2 weeks then induction 1 week later if the baby isn't here by then.

We don't get 4D scans in the UK at the hospital so we are looking forward to her arrival now. Last seen her face 6 weeks ago.

Do what you feel is right. Me and the missus never did the ‘let them cry’ thing. We just never had it in us. He’s absolutely fine now even though he was ‘babied’ more than others.

With the recent tooth he was just absolutely not himself. He was inconsolable for about 12 hours we were like WTF is going on?!

Back to his happy self the next morning though so it must have just pushed through that night.
