It’s all kicked off for me - waters broke at 4am and we’re in the hospital in the early stages of labour
We’re all done. Very swift progression, everything went according to textbook and he was born just after 10:40 weighing 3.78kg. No time for the epidural she wanted. He’s now demonstrating a strong chomping reflex and we’re sat having a coffee. Could even be home by this evening.
Really heart wrenching stuff and I feel tremendously for those who haven’t had such plain sailing.

Wonder weeks app is saying she's 40 days away until the next leap so this should be a quiet spell! Having a read online apparently they usually only get pain just before the tooth comes through the gum so I'm at a loss!
We might just have a very grumpy baby!
Books and online can be wrong. Both of ours were martyrs for teething. We might just have a very grumpy baby!

Anbesol is lidocaine in alcohol. Relief within seconds (adults can use it as well). You can layer with calpol as needed. Normally gives about 4 hrs relief.
We have found ibuprofen to be so much better for teething than calpol!No_Idea said:

What date did you use? We used "due date" and "actual date" on ours but I can't remember which was most accurate apart from it wasn't the one they ask for.We might just have a very grumpy baby!
As for teething, it's the molars that are the worst as they are blunt and not as razor sharp as the front teeth. We used a lot of ashton + parsons powder of matricia. It's a little sachet of powder that we rubbed onto the gums where the teeth were coming through (contrary to instructions of just dump the contents into their mouths..) Little one loved it as it was a new texture to crunch with gums and it's also a local anaesthetic.
What is she fed on? Boob? Have you checked other things such as silent reflux? or a lactose intolerance? Or possible food intolerance, get mum to try avoiding specific food types (nuts / seeds / shellfish etc) and see if she's better after?

Well we are home! 9pm to 5pm, boy watching SWMBO go through that is tuff.
Healthy boy!
To those going through sleep deprivation, just give each other some time to sleep, and spare a thought for theboss and myself and others in this situation!

My boy was awake most of the night apparently, I got regular videos of him crying. I’m aware it’s gonna take a few days for things to settle down with milk coming etc. And the little guy doesn’t have much of a body clock.
Picking them up shortly.
Of course now he’s out like a light.

Actual date I believe. She's on formula (Hipp organic) which seems the better one for her as we tried several and she was quite sicky. She's feeding on blended up food quite well, so don't believe its food related. As for teething, it's the molars that are the worst as they are blunt and not as razor sharp as the front teeth. On another note, I'm worried she could be coming down with a cold - I've had one for 2 weeks now and still got it, despite trying my absolute best to not spread it, my partner is now coming down with it so it's probably inevitable the baby will get it - is this cause for concern being so young? Just worried if her nose becomes blocked this will effect her breathing?

My daughter has finally started crawling at 10 and a half months.
And she is everywhere!
Trying to grab the tv stand, crawling into the kitchen, crawling into the hallway.
A couple of seconds not looking at her and she is gone!
She sleeps 9-8, then at 11am, 4pm and sometimes 6pm for 30 minutes.
Since the crawling she is enjoying her sleep recovering from expending the energy.

For those of you who don't read the depression thread, and why would you really, my wife died in November leaving me with a (then) 21 month old to fly solo with.
If you have children of a similar age (or any age really), imagine your other half suddenly vanishing, then you really find out how much work it is being a single parent. Also, if you are not a hands on Dad (I always was), do your best and help your other half out, especially during the night. Don't take them for granted either as one day they might not be there.
Thankfully (In a way) he is too young for it to have registered. His routine has been kept the same so he is completely unaffected from what I can ascertain. One day he may ask the question but thats something to deal with later on.
Anyway, thread derail over...

Just quickly caught up with it, jesus, you have my condolences. How are you doing? Little one not understanding / carrying on is its own blessing as it stops you just shutting down. Having kids really does take its toll on both the mental and physical.
Am not doing to bad considering and have been back at work since the beginning of the month. Going back was a bit of a shock after 2 months of playgroup, kids activities, meeting up with the other Mums at soft play, etc...
Having a little one around certainly keeps you busy and stops you staying in the house and staring at the walls though otherwise it would have been a lot worse to deal with.
