Thanks for the upbeat replies, it is such a worrying time. And then its a new type of worry when they are born
yes i would say just follow the doctors advice, they generally seem to know what’s right and wrong. if it’s any conciliation mrs malks elective section was planned for 39wks +5 days, she was prepped and ready in case she went naturally. in the end it was brought forward because of blood pressure. but all good. also people talking about burping, one of the moves I found quite effective was the let them get all hunched up/ leaning forward while sitting on my lap. then kind of lift them up, so the back went straight/ shoulders back/ correct posture position, the movement from hunched over to this, seemed to really help my little one.
Hope everyone is doing well? I’ve not been around as much whilst I’m on furlough as I can’t access my laptop and I don’t like the mobile version of the site so much!
But news this end is that we’re having a boy this time around, gives us one of each. Wife getting better after 15 weeks of horrendous ‘all day’ morning sickness it’s now confined more to later in the afternoon.

My lad is coming up to 6 months soon and he is becoming a right little character!
Learning new things everyday and has a lovely giggle, it's very cute and he recently learned to blow raspberries
He does still go from happy to hangry in 5 seconds though haha
Crazy how quick time goes 2 weeks ago today my wife was right in the middle of labor and I didn’t know how we’d get through it. She arrived at 4.10 then week took her home and I couldn’t change a nappy, I had no idea what to do with a newborn, fast forward to weeks and I’m smitten with little Sophia. Changing nappies and picking her up is second nature. I have one more week off work with my wife and her I’m absolutely loving and treasuring every minute she really is the most perfect little thing I’ve ever clapped eyes on. She’s changed so much in 2 weeks too being a dad is better than I ever could have hoped Learning new things everyday and has a lovely giggle, it's very cute and he recently learned to blow raspberries

Wow, how does any woman pluck up the courage to have more than one child?
This is absolutely awful! Poor lass has been at it since 8am yesterday morning when proper contractions began. She started with pains at 2am, so has been awake for all but about 3 of the hours since then.
We got to hospital at 9pm having spent most of the day at home unable to avoid the unbearable heat. We then spent most of the night awake with contractions and monitoring of the baby. Wife was too dehydrated because she kept chucking up after each round. Which is making the whole thing harder and had the babies HR way too high.
She's had drips, 3 rounds of anti sickness, 2 diamorphine, waters broken manually and now on a drip to that's meant to hurry things along. Only the morphine has about knocked her unconscious.
To add, there are now multiple other women in giving birth and the ward is echoing to the sound of truly blood curdling screams. The kind that could only come from some kind of intense torture or from being cut up alive with a blunt chainsaw.
It's like the human body wasn't designed to reproduce! I would not wish this on my own worst enemy.
I'm sure there are much worse stories. In fact it know there are because I've heard them from friends (and some have done this 3 times!!! Sadistic bds!)

Don't tell her you somehow found the time and inclination to update the internet on how her labour is going, in real time.
Not great news, just 6 weeks after having our second child, our 3 year old went to A&E yesterday morning and is now being kept in and will be transferred today to great ormond street for suspected Leukemia.
I’m shocked and so sad. He’s such a happy boy.
I’m so scared they will confirm it is Leukemia and holding out for any glimmer of hope that it’s something else

Thoughts are with you. You might want to post in Health Matters as well; there are some experts in that forum and it is also (like this thread) very supportive.I’m shocked and so sad. He’s such a happy boy.

If it is any help, Great Ormond Street is, as I understand it, world class.
