I have two of these. They're lasting well.
Its horrible seeing your kids ill. If I've found out anything it's that the most amazing people in the NHS work with the kids. They never, ever just phone it in. Always super focused. Good vibes from us.

Wow, how does any woman pluck up the courage to have more than one child?
This is absolutely awful! Poor lass has been at it since 8am yesterday morning when proper contractions began. She started with pains at 2am, so has been awake for all but about 3 of the hours since then.
We got to hospital at 9pm having spent most of the day at home unable to avoid the unbearable heat. We then spent most of the night awake with contractions and monitoring of the baby. Wife was too dehydrated because she kept chucking up after each round. Which is making the whole thing harder and had the babies HR way too high.
She's had drips, 3 rounds of anti sickness, 2 diamorphine, waters broken manually and now on a drip to that's meant to hurry things along. Only the morphine has about knocked her unconscious.
To add, there are now multiple other women in giving birth and the ward is echoing to the sound of truly blood curdling screams. The kind that could only come from some kind of intense torture or from being cut up alive with a blunt chainsaw.
It's like the human body wasn't designed to reproduce! I would not wish this on my own worst enemy.
I'm sure there are much worse stories. In fact it know there are because I've heard them from friends (and some have done this 3 times!!! Sadistic bds!)

I hope that you've got a little bundle of joy now, that also helps to remove the birthing memories.

Not great news, just 6 weeks after having our second child, our 3 year old went to A&E yesterday morning and is now being kept in and will be transferred today to great ormond street for suspected Leukemia.
I’m shocked and so sad. He’s such a happy boy.
I’m so scared they will confirm it is Leukemia and holding out for any glimmer of hope that it’s something else
Jesus after being told our baby had cystic fibrosis at 2 weeks old i know how you must feel, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your son but listen- you know that these medical places cover themselves 100 times over! Which is obviously good because if the children do need care then they get it when they need it. I’m shocked and so sad. He’s such a happy boy.

But
They can be wrong, after several weeks in hell we were then told our daughter didn't actually have cf, they changed her diagnosis and they do keep an eye on her but at gosh and at nearly 5 she has still got zero issues what so ever. Basically she has genes which fall into the spectrum so she 'may' develop symptoms at some stage but until then we carry on as normal. She may never have any.
I know this is so easy to say but try and keep strong, its all you can do and if he does have it then the care as gosh is quite literally world class, they save children daily.
All the best to you all.
Further to my previous post about the concerns of cord prolapse due to various issues i can now report that we have had our baby
All went (reasonably fine) and she's beautiful and has been home now since saturday. Our 4yr old daughter has been great, we thought she would be jealous and she is, but not in the way we expected. She basically gets jealous when myself or the mum is holding or feeding her and she wants to do it all (except for changing nappies)
It was also the first dat for me that my 4yr old suddenly didn't feel like a baby any more suddenly she looks so big and so grown up. Isn't it so sad to see your baby not being your baby any more but then its great seeing her becoming so grown up and for a 4yr old so independent, its all incredible stuff really.
The c section went ok, but nothing like the first, the first time the baby was out in what seemed like minutes, my wife said she felt no pain at all. This time it took nearly an hour, it must have taken 30-40 mins to get the baby out and i will say for a while i was getting worried, my wife was in some pain and her face expressions said it all, i didn't see but she said at one stage she could see the shape of someone through the screen pushing down so hard on her ribs that she thinks her feet came off the ground.
It was so hot i could hear the surgeons telling one of the other surgeons to stop and get a drink, like they were bickering or struggling with it all.
My wife lost 700ml of blood which i believe is pre haemaorage but she's fine now, she is still in a lot of pain but doing well.
Baby is perfect and like our first somehow remains looking cute even though she looks like me
All of the staff were spectacular, it was an all woman team and they were simply fking amazing! I cried while i told them all thank you several times. They seemed surprised but i will always give credit where its due and it was due, it was so hot in there and i could feel the pressure!

This may be a bit of a no st Sherlock to some of us, but:

Now all we need is more time off when they are young. Not holding my breath about that.

"fathers tend to engage in more physical play like tickling, chasing, and piggy-back rides, which researchers claim appears to help children to learn to control their feelings."
Seems intuitive now it's spelled out, but wouldn't have made the connection between physical play and emotional control myself. Interesting.

So it appears we may be having our boy a little early, 1 day off 36wks
Partner was admitted yesterday afternoon with preeclampsia and although her BP has stabilised, proteins are still off the scale, as age is a factor in our/her pregnancy looking to deliver today/tomorrow or whenever they have a slot for the c section
Frustrating that I can’t be with her though, what with COVID/Leicester lockdown but she’s in fairly good spirits.

Hello all,
I dont ever post in "the lounge", sometimes browse but this is a thread I can conribute to.
My wife is just into her third trimester, second pregnancy after a miscarriage last year (14 weeks and 5 days - it broke our hearts but thats another story, I dont want to bring in any negativity here although I am very happy to talk about it especially if any of you are needing any support). we're expecting a boy this time round, and s far everything has been going very well. I'm very very excited, I'm making lists of all sorts of things that we need or want to have, we've purchased a few things in the sales (john lewis have been doing 10% off, plus we had some vouchers form Christmas, so we bought a few things there). I happily daydream of the future - learing to ride a bicycle, taking him to motor-races, showing him how to play the guitar, encouraging him in anyhting he shows a strong interest in. He'll be due around 20th september, so hes out in time for the run up to the Bathurst 1000 :-D Mrs has been home since lock-down began and has been told not to return to the office, instead she;s working from home until a couple of weeks before the due date.
To all of you expecting, congratulations. To those who have had a hard time, my sympathies. One thing I learned quickly last year was that parenting begins the moment you find out your other half is with child. Again, if anyone needs emotional support / someone to chat too if things havnt been going well, do get in touch.

Slight change of plans, the preeclampsia got worse so our little boy was born this evening via emergency c section.Partner was admitted yesterday afternoon with preeclampsia and although her BP has stabilised, proteins are still off the scale, as age is a factor in our/her pregnancy looking to deliver today/tomorrow or whenever they have a slot for the c section

Both mum and baby doing really well and as she’s in HDU I got to spend a lot of time with them both before and after the op.
