Being fully supported by my parents when I decided to go to university, to stay working overseas (originally went of 6 months in 1998 and not returned to date) and now starting my own company with my son (working as an independent consultants).

The rider I help race in Dubai (and Qatar and Bahrain) gave me the Tag watch he was given for winning the UAE Sportsbike Championship in 2012.

A redundancy cheque from my last employer. I already had a job lined up so I turned it into this.

Yeah, they were clumsy pig iron lumps with iffy gears but it didnt stop them being the must have bike of the late seventies early eighties.

I so wanted one but wasnt old enough I had a Silver Strika with Back pedal brake, the eight year old me could pull some wicked skids with that bad boy, like a hydraulic handbrake compared to a normal one and responsible for the need for many new rear tyres.

Grifters were ponderous and Sturmey Archer three speeds were poo, they actually had four gear, including the neutral it would shift into at inconvenient times, usually when you were out of the saddle trying to coax some forward momentum from it which would unbalance it, wasnt really any more stable than a Chopper, no wonder they died when BMX's came out,

My wife bought me my Yamaha Thunderace as a wedding present. Epic epic present. I adore that bike! Tries to kill me every now and then, but sure that's part of the attraction!
Close second the d2 Audi A8 4.2 v8 I have. Again my wife bought it for me. For Xmas this time.

Ok i was being humble... but it was a transformational thing for me at the time... this was well before BMX

I'll step up to the plate... This gift was very special...

I was rather spoilt on my 40th...Main gift was an age matching Land Rover Series 2a... it came with a white tie party in the Penthouse of the Dorchester for all my friends, a battered Barbour, a canvas roof set and 10 days in Venice. I was somewhat blown away and confirmed Mrs Crown was a keeper!

Couldn't help tinkering with it... now looks like this

But does she know it?
My wife has bought me some amazing stuff over the years, she just doesn't know about most of it yet.

Haha. She does actually! Bought and paid for by her! Can't complain on that account!
