Not very good at spending money on stuff. I manage to spend it far too freely on travelling and motor racing so I imagine that trend would continue.

Perhaps I'd have to pay someone to buy my stuff for me- furnish my homes etc, deal with the logistics of moving my newly acquired cars around. Then I could galavant about alternating between travelling and motor racing.

There's an individual on these forums called 'poppopbangbang' who deals in F1 cars. His phone would be ringing.

I'd have to see if I can follow in Chris Hoy's footsteps and use my extreme wealth to compensate for my lack of talent and enable me to compete in various motor sports which should be out of my reach.

With that much money, it would be fairly easy to sleep with 50-100 (proper) models a year, either gold-diggers or paid-for. Park up a yacht in Monaco, sponsor a show in Paris fashion week, etc.

In between models, you can buy billionaire toys, like an island, yacht, mountain chalet, jet, hypercar fleet, go into space.

And then go on a world tour for a few years. Meet some presidents and famous stars. Get on local TV. That kind of thing.

Rinse and repeat.

Buy a Lotus Carlton, fit a tow hook and tow my car to all the race meets.
The trailer would be adorned with the team sponsor, Haribo Tangfastics, and there would be free unlimited supplies for the whole weekend.

The team can set up for my arrival:
I'd get lobster and caviar flown in by chopper, Shakira and Christina Aguilera would be most welcome to do the evening entertainment.
The Winnebago would be fitted out with a water bed, a large disco ball and a 45 gallon drum of baby oil.

Etc

I'd have a house here in the UK, one (or two) in Germany, and one in either Moscow or St. Petersburg. All houses would naturally be in secluded areas where they can have plenty of garage space. Given all this garage space I'd then buy fairly normal cars that grab my attention far more than any hypercar. One house in Germany would have a fun track car for the 'Ring.

Is Techiedave widely known to be a pervert? Only yesterday he was saying he'd do stuff to an old tramp with her lumps on the wrong side in the 'Travellers' thread...

I would get a really flash car like a veyron or Chiron, for the ring.

And a really good car to take on track days when I am not out getting ring.

I would invest half of it in low risk mutual funds and then take the other half over to my friend Asadulah who works in securities.
Sounds like it would be wasted on you, where is the fun in doing that?
Well I lol'd at the reference. 'Two chicks at the same time' would be the fun option.

I'd probably go out for brunch more often than I do at the moment - and I like brunch.

I was always tempted by some sort of big Art Deco thing built onto a cliff. Think the place in House on Haunted Hill, pretty sure I remember a picture of a real abandoned one that was similar above a big lake.

Plus a nice big fortification to see out the apocalypse. Castles are interesting but I think I'd be more inspired by a big lump of finely crafted Germany concrete, all those nice geometries and rounded corners.

Titan missile base with those big underground domes always looked interesting so maybe something like that too.

Cars/planes/boats can all be rented. Big self sustaining expedition vessel could be fun though.

I consider myself to have some wierd tastes but:
A big American style 5th wheel toy hauler/caravan with room for a lightweight sports car and a couple of small bikes, the car being a ginetta G40r, the bikes: a NCR M4(a lightened ducati) and some kind of trail bike with an adv fairing, possibly a drz400. For the tow vehicle an Isuzu AT35. With this lot I would tour around the world visiting various tracks and famous roads

A little boat, not the usual billionaire 100fter. I have a fetish for mini transat races, basically a solo rigged blue water under 6.5m long with a massively oversized sail

A big boat, can't not have a big boat, armed to the teeth with a car garage, think I'd see how many world powers I could ps off by powering it by a micro reactor.

I'd buy a block of flats in my home city of Glasgow, convert the ground floor into a large garage, the rest of the floors into a large, but modest, 6 or so bedroom flat in the middle of the west end. Likely wouldn't live here myself, I echo the sentiments of others in the thread, I'd be on the first flight to somewhere nice, but would be nice leaving something for my family to enjoy.

And the usual array of property dotted around the world. Would definitely need some hidden beaches to moor the boats at whilst I am galavanting about.

Commission the build of a WW2 mosquito bomber. Dunno why, but always fancied building one. I doubt there are many left with the skills...

I'd spend some time thinking about it, maybe ten seconds or so, then I'd walk out the front door, lock it and never visit this st hole of a country again.
I wouldn't even pause to shut the door on the way out. Pick up wallet and passport and leave the car running outside the airport..
hehe at these, I share your sentiments exactly.
Our country is one of the most expensive to live in in europe? there are plenty of other countries if you dont fancy this one? Why havent you three gone already?
I haven't left already because I haven't been a cash billionaire until this thread. Look at all the comments here, hardly a hint of altruism; I'll take my billions where they're needed and appreciated.

Agreed, not much philanthropy in here.

Scholarships for smart kids from disadvantaged backgrounds in this country.

Clean water projects for third world.

Lighten up you two, it's supposed to be a bit of fun.
I highly doubt that if anyone on here was a cash billionaire they wouldn't give money to charity.

How boring would that thread be?
"What would you do with a billion in cash?"
"Help the needy"
"Oh brilliant idea, close the thread"

If it's really that important to you I'd really like to turn that billion into 10s of billions and fight cancer because it's an absolute bh, like many I've lost close ones to it.

But just chill out and have a bit of imagination.

Beyond the obvious philanthropy etc etc, I'd look to buy the Oakland Raiders. If they don't want to sell I'd treat myself to a few other sporting teams. A NASCAR team sounds fun for a year or two.

I'd work out how to buy a Euro fighter and be taught how to fly it, same goes for an Apache. They look like fun.

Fund my 5 year old on his quest to become F1 World Champion, if that fails simply give him a seat in my recently acquired F1 team.

I think I'd also have to take ownership of the Post Ranch Inn on Big Sur.

Buy enough stickers to complete the latest Panini football album, that's something no reasonable amount of money seems to be capable of doing.

Start a large scale demolition company and my only role in the firm would be to be the only person allowed to press the loud button.

I'd just stay in nice hotels - you'd have company and it would be easier to manage so you could just relax

Then do what I do now - go out for coffee, lounge around, gym, nights out with mates

In fact don't think I would do anything differently which is nice

Charitable giving would be something I'd do more of

Interesting question isn't it
