Clearing the garage at my mum's. But for the addition of mum's mobility scooter it's as it was when my dad died. Tools, work stuff, sailing stuff, unclassified junk, random junk, more half empty tins than you could shake a stick at, double barreled shot gun, any amount of DIY raw material. Hold on a minute, a double barreled shot gun? He didn't shoot. Where the fk did that come from? He was a little guy but he was physically courageous. I can't see him having it in his Fabia as an antidote to road rage. Not with the barrels full length anyway. Sawn off perhaps. Something else to take to the Police station to enquire about any forthcoming firearms amnesty.

I know it’s the wrong thread, but I’m nominating myself as a knob.

No idea why but I posted in a food thread about burgers.

I think I wasted some of my monthly allowance for no logical reason!

I think burgers are as good a thing as any to post about Jim. It's when they start waffling on about Unicorn medallions with a jus reduction that gets my goat grumpy

I took a live WW2 75mm tank round to the Police. Bought it from an antique shop in Hertford and had used it as an amusing door stop for years.
They weren’t impressed and told me to take it to the local army barracks which I did and got a receipt.
A couple of months later I went back so see what they had done with it and they had ‘no record’ of having taken it and ‘didn’t reconise’ the receipt signature.

I reckon someone had it away.

Ps I always knew it was live as even as a 17 year old I knew if the brass band wasn’t scored by the rifling it was unfired. There was no fuse just a nose blanking plate which I knocked off with a chisel and yep a load of HE so I just put it back on again.
Then was the days. Proper stuff.

April 7th this year is the 50th anniversary of Jim Clark's passing ,there's a bit of a do up in the borders that weekend ,I might go up for that.

It's only 400 miles and 7 hours drive.

I expect Lord Jackie of Tartan will be there.

They are doing a symbolic first piece of construction for the extended Jim Clark museum too.

That would have been your Mum's, DC.

To clear the pavements in front of her mobility scooter on her trips to Waitrose.

Looks as though he's made his way up your kilt old chap, we must make sure the little fella's kept safe tonight.

I can understand the Rangers shirt making an appearance but the rubber gauntlets and sink plunger are a little perturbing. Is this part of a new Burns' Night directive?

Did you not see the memo? It's the new EU regulated burns night uniform, I quite like it, especially the rubber gauntlets, but that's another thing!!! paperbag

The plunger is for clearing the pipes.
