It looks like some scally has nicked most of the mortar from the wall.

The bricks will be next, just mark my words. ..

It's odd, they've never done a major renovation of the house but by the amount they spend on things in the house - a new bathroom, their second fitted kitchen, furniture, decorating - they could have afforded one. Priorities I guess. My priority with an electric or hybrid car would be to not have the charge lead or an extension lead lying around in all weathers. They could at least put an upside down bucket over some it like the rest of us would. With a brick on the bucket to stop it being blown over.

Oh, mate! No one hurt, I hope. Is it driveable? Did it make you late? Do you have an alternative form of transport? Could you get a pint of semi-skimmed while you're there?

Chris Evans said the snow outside Wogan House is travelling horizontally and asked where we thought it might be landing. "Eejit," I thought. Now, in bright sunlight without a cloud in the sky we have a few snow flakes falling in Newbury. They've come horizontally from London, haven't they?

The siberian weather has probably affected his Tesla milk float battery accompanied by the wrong type of snow conditions!

On the + side, your milk bottles should be cold smile

Focus damaged? Oh dear, sorry to hear that Bobbers. Not much consolation but it could have been worse I suppose.

If you're looking for some filler, Battert concocts a suet dumpling mixture that'd probably effect a strong repair? Mind, I don't know how you'd rub it down smooth once it's set, it's like nothing I've seen before. Got some residue stuck in a stock pot once, caustic wouldn't touch it and it destroyed an air chisel. Tried a bit of PE4 in the end, not sure what effect that had as we never found the pot afterwards. A postman in Trivton Magna was hit by something at around the same time though, I think it was passed off as a 'meteorite shower' in the end. Never mind.

Anyhow, I've been reading a weather warning for our area, it has advised folk to 'batten down the hatches'. Unfortunately we have no hatches to batten down as such, nearest thing would be a Dormer window. I'll sort out a bit of tarpaulin and some timber and have a go at that to show willing.

Thanks Bomma but I fear it may be a write off!! frown
You could always try just applying some 1x2 batten across the dormers, would probably be close enough to be considered "Batten down'd hatches!!"

Battert down the hatches.

Yes. We could add it to his duties.

I had no idea that BBC radio's home is now called Wogan house.

It might be because I listen to no BBC stations.
