I'm on a very lucrative 1800-0000 shift.

Hourly + 88%. For sitting at a desk whilst three people put some things together.

Hello pop pickers, it's been a while but I've had nothing trivial to tell you

Good to see you've all been keeping (relatively) sane wink

Today however....

I was actually able to drive my car for the first time in 3 months biggrin

(I fell on snow covered ice at the end of Feb & smashed my right wrist completely to smithereens - sounded like biting into a Crunchie! - had to be operated on to be put back together & I'll never regain full movement frown )

But I can finally drive again love

I haven't got any "normal " food in the house ,that being bread or milk ,so no brekkie tomorrow for me.

I had a road trip banana left over for today's breakfast.

Somebody pop out n get something for me please.

I also have a tomato left over but that doesn't really make for a fulfilling breakfast.....frown

I do have a pasta mountain though.

I had to buy food at supermarket whilst in Italy, found that pasta is decent price less than here,so on second and last shop bought 10 x1kg bags, cleared one whole product from the shelf,7€ for 10kg is excellent value, filled the car up ,no room on passenger side.

Bloke in Luxembourg, hitch hiking asked for a lift to Brussels,I might have been able to take him as far as manure, sorry Namur but for the lack of space.

Pasta sauce not cheaper in Italy, didn't stop me from buying 6 jars of various flavours that are different to stuff I get here.
Food is generally more expensive there.

Is the 18,000,000 before or after the 88% uplift?

Lots & lots of 'hand Therapy' (which just sounds SO wrong laugh

I can't hold a pen properly, so can't write very well but other than that & a confidence crisis...

I've only broken a toe & my jaw before

This was _much_ more painful & still hurts frown

Came off a motorbike & landed on it. Snapped the bit under the ball that goes in the socket.

Can't yawn properly as a result of that one laugh

A fall like that is traumatic, I was standing still having just cleaned the ice & snow off the car & my feet just went from under me. My hands were in my pockets so when I landed it smashed my wrist. I was on the ground for several minutes, screaming! but ignored by those that drove past. To realise you're that fragile & can't be repaired

I've had the 'walking through the black and white tunnel that probably goes on and on forever' experience. And reached the doors at the end. And stepped through. It was a long time ago but I remember it very vividly.

The sad truth is we are all vulnerable In one way or another, I never used to doubt myself and frequently did what I now realise we're downright stupid things, at the time I never, and I mean never, stopped to consider the consequences of my actions, however as I've gotten older (not wiser) I've realised that I'm not indestructible and it hurts when it goes wrong, ali_kat you will bounce back from this, you will learn to adapt, I'm working with a chap at the moment who was blown up in 2006 and has damaged retinas, he's an engineer with very limited vision as a result, he's adapted.
Dicky, we really need to get together for a beer, when I read that I knew there was a story behind it!!!

I’ve been given my personal issue Allen key and the winding starts in seven days from today. A quarter turn in each screw, four times a day, giving one full rotation per screw, which equates to 1mm per day. The top screw will get longer, the bottom screw shorter.

I’m back at home, and we’ve upped from “fairly ouchy” to “less than zero fun”. I’m hoping it settles down over the next couple of days. Right leg is also (temporarily) shorter than left leg, to reduce the strain on my soft tissue, where the cement was removed.

Allen key in position, for your continued delectation. Just to confuse matters, the “bottom screw” is at the top of the picture (or it was, before any iPad/Thumbsnap related fkery) an£ is near m6 right knee, not my bottom. The blue thing is the “safety catch”, which releases the screw, so it can be turned.
