The mother of someone's son's girlfriend used this crowdfunding thing to try and 'beg' money to fund moving from the north of England to a more southerly UK location.
It didn't include a request to support payment of the rent arrears owed but did include funding of a torch required to aid in the midnight departure.
Fortunately no one was daft enough to contribute.

Lancashire based photographer wants to tour the country taking pictures along the way. Has poor credit so can’t get finance for a caravan nor bigger car to tow it, suddenly becomes our problem to help fund his holiday and buy him a bigger car
I've seen his stuff before, it's all photoshopped to fk. I remember one photo of the White Church at St Annes he claims he took on his smartphone, yet I'm pretty certain you could just make out the milky way in the sky despite us being on the Fylde Coast ffs. ]

Also, I love how that begging page goes from wanting a caravan to halfway through then throwing in the fact he also needs an upgraded car to tow it and on top of all that he wants to publish a hardback book along with some free accommodation in the UK and Europe. Sure Sean, would you like me to suck you off as well?

I especially liked the part where he was going on about how, as a freelance photographer, he would have no income for months. Being a freelance astronaut myself I know all too well his pain, if only there was a solution to this problem.

If you do come up with a solution, please let me know. My career as a freelance F1 driver has been stuttering for a while now...

Because like all of these chancing fks, why spend your own money when there's an endless supply of morons who are happy to give you theirs?

Haha, I agree. I know the picture you’re talking about, the church is only a few minutes walk from me. The majority of his stuff is massively over processed.

I particularly enjoyed the bit where he recognises that £15k is a lot of money however it will allow him to get a newer model caravan! Can’t believe he’s managed to get £530 so far.

Part of me wants to do a blatant but honest one, see if anyone will chuck in for the cheek:

I would like a new motorbike. I am gainfully employed and could buy something reasonable second hand myself, however I fancy something nicer and don't like the idea of PCP. Please help me buy a motorbike.

And to avoid ever being made redundant and unable to provide his for his family again he became self employed running a 'business' that, by his own admission, see's him going months without work.

I would love to know who all these people are that have enough disposable income to throw away on all these stupid begging go fund me pages. I’ve seen some ridiculous pages lately from the woman who wanted money to take her kids to Disney world and actually raised the full amount to a young cocky idiot who was banging on about not needing car insurance because he was such a good driver only to bin his car and then set up a fund me page to fix it. You even see average people trying to raise money for funerals etc. I’m sorry but everyone has to deal with things like that it’s part of life you just get on with it.

Two of the young guys my age in the office are planning some sort of volunteering-holiday-dossing around thing to South Africa. The kind of thing you spend £6k to go on and build a house for a week, then just have fun for the rest of the 5 weeks.

They've been setting up a gofundme thing this morning that they are planning on sending out to everyone, as it's an expensive scheme, and they need to take a lot of un-paid leave. Can't wait for that email to go out hehe

Having done a lot of charitable work in Africa (mostly Zambia), I find this quite disgusting. I do hope those two get a very rude awakening.

It's an office of pissed off tight arse engineers - It was never going to go well.

Must've been told to fk off by each person individually in the space of 30 mins hehe
A lot of the volunteer work seemed to involve jet-skis and quad bikes.

Fundraiser was removed and their request for unpaid leave denied.

I saw a fundraiser aiming to make that Kylie bird a billionaire which I'm totally donating to instead.

A bit strong, they will actually build something after all.

The most recent one is hilarious - 'coaching for Africa'. Rich white kids go over to Africa and play a game of football or two with the locals to build their confidence and so on...

Surely there are cheaper ways to build rich white kids' confidence?
