Obviously you aren’t going to leave them on your house/car after the wild cup is over, but a bit of patriotism doesn’t hurt.
Let’s be proud without being made to feel bad!
You're not supporting your country. You're supporting your team.Let’s be proud without being made to feel bad!
You're supporting your team because you want them to win.
Wanting your team to win isn't patriotism. It's tribalism.
Also, and probably most importantly, England aren't going to win because they're not very good at football, which is one of the requirements to win.

TBH anything to do with England is frowned upon.
I am always seeing companies with 'Scottish or Scot' in their names, but I cant think of any large 'English' company names.
As an example, the main utility company up here is 'Scottish and Southern', the 'Southern' bit refers to England, the country that shall not be named.
And we have Scottish water, and Scotrail..no such English equivalents exist as far as i am aware.
We go further, and name things by area. Yorkshire pudding, Cornish pastie, Bakewell tart etc......I am always seeing companies with 'Scottish or Scot' in their names, but I cant think of any large 'English' company names.

At one time most hotels would serve a full English breakfast, now even that's named after the county, full Hampshire, full Warwickshire etc. I am always seeing companies with 'Scottish or Scot' in their names, but I cant think of any large 'English' company names.

Looks like Ray has caused a small glitch in the Matrix
Seeing as no-one could quite agree on what went into a full English, we've had to diversify it. There's even a full Millwall, which is burnt toast served with shouted abuse and a headbutt.
I think it's quite rare for companies to have their country of origin in their name (not saying there's anything wrong with it at all) but even in the US where jingoism is rife, very few companies have American in their name (only AT&T and American Airlines spring to mind). Thinking on that... Does British Airways count? Also used to be British Midlands which are now defunct.

Every time England qualify for an international tournament they drape nearly every square inch of their semi-detached home in St George's flags.
Except there’s 2, maybe three flags on their TERRACED home. And lots in their garden. captain_cynic said:

What makes you think that the English flag is remotely frowned upon?

Southern Electric covered the south of England.

Not quite. The Southern bit comes from Southern Electric which merged with Scottish Hydro-Electric to form Scottish and Southern Energy.
Southern Electric covered the south of England.
Is that right? So, the company should really be called Northern Scottish and Southern English Energy thenSouthern Electric covered the south of England.
My point is only that it must be bad business to Demonstrate English pride or patriotism on a corporate level as I have never seen anyone doing it.
I have lived in a few countries and every other country markets themselves with pride.
