took me some time to work out whether these were two females or a male and a female. All horrific whichever way you look at it.
That's one of the most disturbing set of piccies I have ever seen.. And as my lust for a certain group of left of centre female MP's is well documented it's fair to say I am pretty disturbed generally.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5258083/...

in the fifth picture down I thought it was one aimed at chocolate starfish aficionado's with the recipient looking to her left. I then realised after much study that it wasn't actually her arse in the picture.
Like I said it's disturbing stuff. I hope to have a full gallery of pics from the web soon.
Did the Earth move for both of them, or just me?
and another one.
so in former days I used to also deliver the cities hostel/temp accomm for the homeless.
one of our places was a new build, flagship place: honesty, like a hotel. we'd provide fully furnished temp homes, pending secure homes. plus classes, education and allsorts. we struggled to get people out in usually, social housing being far worse than the temp accomm !
one day, saw a bin liner in the offices/ktichen area filled with extremely expensive, fancy "artisan" bread. you know the £4.00 a loaf type, brown, seeds, mutligrain et al.
querying why this is here ?
Turns out "Betty's" of Harrogate (you might need to be northern to get this) were donating their surplus to us. Betty's is a very fancy bunshop.
as it transpires non of our homeless, benefit dependent tnts would go near "Betty's" bread because: and I quote
"not going near that muck, its brown and its got loads of bits in". They wanted white sliced only.
Our relationship with Betty's ended alas. A shame, because the staff had some lovely bread to eat because no one else wanted it !!!
wish I could afford to be buying bread from Betty's on a regular basis !

Being brought up in Harrogate, this made me sad and perplexed as I would have quite happily eaten (as I'm sure so would most of the posters here) the Betty's bread mentioned in the post. Being brought up in and from Harrogate I would have thought it would have been the opposite, but I suppose council is council wherever you go.so in former days I used to also deliver the cities hostel/temp accomm for the homeless.

PS: if you want to go Betty's and avoid the queues (which stretch down Parliament Street), pay a visit to RHS Harlow Carr - beautiful flowers and a wonderful cup of tea and cake. They do have other outposts across North Yorkshire and in the City of York too.
Candles which aren't housed in or on a candlestick (bonus points if the candle is coloured or scented)
More than one cushion per person on a given piece of furniture
Thinking Hieronymus Bosch is the chap who designed your fridge
Serving prosecco in moulded stemware
Preferring Daniel Craig's Casino Royale to the original
Telescopic umbrellas
Posting on the "a bit council thread" on PistonHeads

I was in Harrogate recently and stopped by Bettys. Granted it was a Friday afternoon at 4pm, but still I was surprised with the reputation I'd heard, how empty it was. The entire downstairs area where the toilets are was closed. I thought it would have been rammed with people wanting a traditional English cream tea.Perhaps it's busier in summer in tourist season?
The one at RHS Harlow Carr, does this get busy at weekends? I'd fancy taking my family for a day out but I hate excessive crowds

Yes, it can get very busy. They have 2 sections - cafe and full restaurant.Perhaps it's busier in summer in tourist season?

For Harlow Carr be there for 11:45 for lunch and you will probably avoid queuing, or go earlier for brunch and no queue. In summer you can sit outside.
Ilkley Bettys is the least busy in my experience. Ideal for Sunday brunch around 10:30 am, then a walk by the river or on the moor to burn it off.
