This must be different areas/towns/county’s, Stella is a decent lager in most decent bars/pubs (can’t speak for Wetherspoons as don’t go in any).
Nope it’s council everywhere.V8mate said:

Often see females wearing Wellies at festivals when it's not even raining and the ground is bone dry, that imo is council
This is utter codswallop1) only some festivals attract ‘council’ crowds so you’re obviously part of that
2) frequently in my experience of possibly 30 U.K. festivals, they become muddy at some point and wellies are sensible attire
3) it can be a huge walk to your tent to change if the weather changes which it frequently does in the U.K. and who can be bothered with that when you’re out having a blast with your mates. Glasto it can easily be 90 minutes to get back to your tent and back
4) many people only take the bare minimum due to having to carry it or fear of theft from tent so wellies are a sensible option if you’re only taking one type of footwear
Big fail I’m afraid

FFS lads, everyone knows that lager is council. Not just Stella, Heineken or whatever, all lager. Fact. It's the thread way.
Jeez, am I glad that I average around one beer every 5 or 6 years, maybe a Coors in Florida, or a Texas Lone Star In guess where, or maybe a long neck Jax anywhere I find it.I’m not a fan of beers, but if the mercury hits 33c or 34c, they look tempting in a frosted glass.
I usually go for Grey Goose, Absolut, or Stolychnya vodka, but I’m happy to go with Smirnoff if my first three aren’t available, promise me that Smirnoff isn’t council.

Ok, you've asked... drinking clear spirits is council as fk. I usually go for Grey Goose, Absolut, or Stolychnya vodka, but I’m happy to go with Smirnoff if my first three aren’t available, promise me that Smirnoff isn’t council.
Drinking American lager is council as fk, especially as it's so unspeakably crap.
Bragging about drinking niche beers in overseas locations is council as fk.
Name-checking fancy spirits is council as fk.
Have you got this yet Frank? Life is council as fk. It's the thread way.

You can think that I was name checking if you wish, I wasn’t, I was saying that I drink good vodka, in an effort to maybe show that I’m not council, but it looks like it backfired, as saying that you prefer the good stuff is apparently council, or so you say.
Coors is hardly niche, it’s as generic as Budweiser, I mentioned Lone Star, as South Padre Island TX was where I was, and the temp was maybe 35c, Jax is niche, I’ll give you that, I’m not even sure that it’s made anymore, the brewery was in Jacksonville FL, but it was popular in Louisiana.
I’d already said that the few beers that I ever had was because of very hot weather, so I said where I was when I had the beers, as those places were like furnaces.
Still, I’m learning, but I have to hope that it sticks.
