It was probably to pay for their utility keys to be charged. Or to pay the lady from the Prov.
Looks like someone (a woman) educated to a decent level. Probably a teacher since the booze and diet coke are at the top.

yours, H. Poirot.
Nah. A teacher wouldn't write 'spuds'.
A northern one would. That entire list stinks of the North.
Probably is Northern, no mention of shandy anywheretongue out
But also no mention of whippet/pigeon food, so it is confusing

You don’t need a list to remember to buy whippet food and pigeon seed ... it’s ingrained into you ... southerners know nothing about us up’noooorth

I thought it was a list of whippet food.

I need to move.
The drive through the bus station before you even get to Dubliners is eye opening.

I suppose drinking this stuff straight from a bottle in a brown paper bag while sitting on a park bench is a bit lower than council...

Blimy! Can you still get this stuff these days. I remember my dad selling VP wines back in the sixties, even then it had the reputation of being one of the preferred drinks of the alcoholic layabout. Seven shillings and six pence a bottle. VP stood for Vine Products that made fortified wine from must (left over grape pressings from France & Spain & cheap brandy). Referred to as British wine, not to be confused with Engilsh wine. It was crap.

Good God, not for me thanks old chap.

You carry on though, by all means. Would you prefer a plastic beaker or a funnel?

In it's original 8%+ days, it was a fine drink for the nobility, now in it's twilight of under 6%, it is a pale chavvy shadow of it's former self.

Sub-Council. Only the homeless drink that.

Councilista cider of choice would be Strongbow or Stella Cidre.

The Range Rover Sport stretched limo I saw today, white, full of chavs. Worse that it came off a dodgy social housing street.
Nice to see how their tax-funded benefits are being spent, what's the going rate for such a thing, £500 an evening?
And I can say with no doubt that virtually everyone on this street are on benefits.
