This job is minimum wage so if money is your main motivation then this job is not for you.

My M.E / fibromyalgia has gotten really bad now. I'm managing to keep working a little by having my lovely clients come to me and they kindly are willing to spread cuts and colours over a couple of days. Lewis is able to leave me and work 3 days a week but some weeks he can end up doing 7 days which he will be doing next week. I genuinely don't know how I'm going to manage.
I had Sedia from church with me for 5 weeks only requesting a donation from us. But she is going back to her home town now as she has a calling to go home.

I need someone to start next week. Even if you can only do one week to help me you would make all the difference until I can fill the position permanently.
The job involves being me. You would arrive at 10 am to help clear breakfast things away and wash them up. Then you would hoover the downstairs. Once a week you would hoover upstairs. You would help either the big or little kids with schoolwork or playing or going out nda about for fun activities. The kids do jobs too. You would then either cook lunch or mind the kids while I do it. You can eat what we have and would be very welcome to join us for our meal. Then you would wash up after lunch and dry up and clear the kitchen so it looks I'll do the laundry and Hunter fills the dryer and empties it but you could help fold the clothes.

Sometimes we go for a picnic and days out. Sedia came to Hollingworth lake with us and the beach at Todmorden. We will pay for lunch out. She also took Pearl out for hot choc and cake. It's a really nice job. It might sound busy but you would be part of our family. I need someone who will just show initiative, not stand around nervously. Someone who will be like family and just merge with us and be a friend

A friend is a GP. She's been banned from taking ME cases by her practice as, although her words to the patient are all appropriate and sympathetic, her expression and intonation are all "FFS MTFU".

ME is unfortunately faked by certain people, but it can be very real. Mum is one of the hardest working people I know - fostered 51 children over 3 decades, chair of governors at 2 local schools, 5 of her own children, co-founder of a local charity and on the board of others, all simultaneously just for some examples. ME absolutely knocked her out for 3 years some 15 years ago.

I know someone who genuinely had ME. The one thing he hated above all was lazing about and was always busy.

As soon as the ME set in he was all but bed ridden for two years; He hated every minute of it and even had thoughts of ending it all.

Sadly the scumbags out there latched onto ME in the same way as Whiplash and soft tissue damage.

Your friend is a .

It's ignorant attitudes like this that make people even worse and why there is still very little progress on this serious condition.

I find her rather nice and she is an excellent GP - her practice is hugely successful and is having to take on extra doctors to cope with the growth, all of which are via word of mouth referrals. I suspect she has a well tuned antenna for those who are genuinely unwell and those who are malingerers. She gives these cases to others in the practice.

A good friend's son had ME. He struggled for two years. I have no doubt that it genuinely affects some people. I also have little doubt that the difficulty of diagnosing it and treating it attracts a range of hypochondriacs and shirkers.

ME is not something I'd choose to fake. Even people who are genuinely very ill with it have problems claiming any benefits.

Well put.

It would be pretty ignorant to assume she can't distinguish between the genuine sufferers and fakers.

Not sure why the post above was necessary.

My guess would be a personal connection with ME leading to sensitivity on the issue.

My friends' wife suffered from ME for a few years. She was a successful city lawyer who was the life and soul of the party, the illness saw her practically housebound for several years & unable to socialise. She had nothing to gain and everything to lose from faking this in fact it came close to costing her marriage as my friend works very long hard hours and struggled to deal with the illness physically or emotionally. She is a lot better now but not 100% the same life loving energetic thing that she was and this is very sad. A pox on people who automatically assume ME sufferers are work shy and a double pox on those who fake it.

My garage may well be "my space" and a little place of sanctuary and man-stuff, and I am not adverse to the idea of a dedicated "mancave/games room" in the house, but some of these are very council indeed

Disagree.

surely the councillista won't play "That fantasy game where you buy property? Who'd buy property, its free innit!"

But of course, loading the game so that you can do your best to ensure only the females have to strip off, that's what happens at university..

Hah! I love how there's only about two which have pool tables you could actually have a game of pool on, without smacking the cues into the walls, furniture or other sh*t dotted around the place.

We've had this before..... but certain hot tubs.
Not all - my sister has a place half way up Snowdon and it's got a hot tub - literally middle of nowhere, and it's just a hot tub. I don't think that's council.

But there are these things popping up on my arsebook feed, usually surrounded by ste decking, maybe with some gazebo over the top, They've got flashing lights, big speakers and wifi and are usually on some awful residential estate. They're on easy finance terms (everyone on PH knows that they can't really afford them,. like car leases and pcp) I deeply suspect the houses have those horrible "Our house is full of love and prosecco" things written on the walls in a cursive font. Every weekend there will be fat tattooed people in them, and not one fk will be given for the neighbours.

Council. As. fk.

I was thinking the same thing. Useless!

I also chuckled at #3 where one badly thrown dart would have quite disastrous results. hehe

I went to a funeral today. Sad, but done well enough at a London crematorium. Noting the common denominator of this site, worth mentioning that all the hearses and family cars were very smart Mercedes, bar none.

But the attendees, my God. 'My' funeral was approaching middle class, although my suit was somewhat unique in being of decent quality, but some of the folk there for other services were proper rough. Imagine a council wedding, without the booze but with just as many fags, high heels, tatoos and pick-up trucks in the car park and you have today's average crem crowd.

Sad, because funeral, and sad because it reminds you how fking rough most of the British population is.
My thoughts after holidaying in deepest France and then spotting all the brits on the ferry! Tattoos, lager, noise, fat, plus unruly children.

My wife usually remarks under her breath, “welcome home”!
