Snowing again today in Denver, but no accumulation - it was 23c yesterday (and will be that again by Wednesday).

I think we've probably got a month before we get some decent snow settling.

The Daily Express annual "coldest ever winter' story is not so ludicrous this year, as they are looking back over only 4 mild winters!

The Express is hilarious.

Daily Express said:
"Forecasters are warning Monday is set to be the coldest day of autumn so far."
So it's getting colder as we get closer to winter. Shocker!

No frost in this bit of Essex just yet but the temperature has dropped a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was some time this week.

Cold, cold weekend coming up (compared to recent weeks, that is). First wide-spread snow in northern Scotland is possible:

The days of cold British winters are long gone. Global warming has put an end to them. May get a sprinkle in London for a day in January, but that's about as bad as it will ever get now.
Ah but Yipper not every one lives in laaaandaan ... some of us live where it does get cold !
Yipper has trouble with maps.

The car was reading 0 degrees both Saturday am and this morning...it's here (winter).

Meanwhile the 'leaf blower' railway thingummygig has been doing mucho overtime this past few weeks, about the only rail vehicle moving without restriction on Southern Rail.

Did anyone else see the spectacular sunset on Saturday? Fabulous blue sky with burning orange clouds...Mr. Turner where are you?
These were taken at about 30,000 feet somewhere over the South East on Saturday night on our flight to Birmingham. It was a stunning sky!

Now the nights are starting to dip noticeably below freezing so we should start getting accumulation in Denver. The next lot is due in tomorrow, up to 4". Some nice fog (a rarity here!) today.

First frost in this part of Essex this morning, accompanied by a lovely sunrise that I couldn't photo because I was driving down the A120. Looked pretty though.

Minus temperatures up here in the mornings (Aberdeen). Starting to see potential for some snow on the high ground. Winter wheels going on at the weekend.

Cold outlook for the weekend and signals that we are likely to get a Greenland high later in November. This is the holy trail for cold in the UK. Will keep an eye out...

Being on winter standby this year this could mean a lot of early mornings and late nights for me! Watching this thread like a hawk now!
