It’s been chilly today! I was pottering around outside and I could feel my cheeks getting redder. It certainly feels wintery.

yes No wind and a bit of blue sky made it feel like spring.

Spring is not far away. Snowdrops have already started blooming in parts of southern England.

Arse! Just looked at the weather report for tomorrow and it looks properly crap. Wet, windy and 11°, so typical of any season in the UK. biggrin

We also have some dafs coming up.

In our garden in Kent (and I'm not any sort of gardener btw so I don't know what this means!), the laurels are sprouting like crazy, and there are already daffodils poking through.

We had two lovely walks with the dogs today, fresh but nice and bright.

Went for a well wrapped up walk around to the local car meet this morning. Lovely afternoon here today too. Very little wind in the Solent meant it was a good day for a long beach walk -again wrapped up as it was a bit nippy even without wind. Water was very calm.

Not seeing any snow in the (BBC) forecast for any of the places I have to go next week, but lots of rain. Hopefully Saturday will be better as we move a mate’s house contents from Barnstaple to Exeter - forecast is for a balmy 9 degrees with showers which isn’t ideal for humping fridge freezers and washing machines etc down 2 floors of steps. Should cost me a few kilos.

How doesn’t he know I am too damn old for all that! smile

Just looked at the BBC weather and it's forecast pretty much continuous snow from late tonight until Wednesday in Buxton. Is this likely to happen?

Not liking the look of this storm on Wednesday night / Thursday morning! I certainly won’t be getting much sleep - just hope it fizzles out a bit before it gets here

Me too.

Looks a bit brutal to be honest.

Met office have issued a warning for the wind.

A cool few days, plus 300m elavation - sweet spot! Lots of gaps in the snow.

Weds night see the low pressure sweep in, and that will introduce a warm sector, followed by another cool sector.

Thanks, it looks like it could be exciting for the 48 hours. I suspect I'll be taking my laptop home with me tonight.

So cold and snow, then warm towards the end of the week and then repeat for next week?

Very difficult to tell. The storm on Weds/Thurs is currently a small kink in the isobars near Florida. The track of this storm is changing on each model run. The way it passes the UK, and how low the pressure goes could change the future.

Quite often I excitedly post up snow forecast maps which are a little bit too far out of the predictable range.

This is tomorrow's:

Excellent. Snow is forecast for tomorrow.
Hoping for a few inches but I know it will likely only be 2 cm or so at best.
