Netweather currently showing 5 to 6 degrees c and sleet tomorrow for my corner of Essex, and it doesn't feel cold enough outside for snow this evening so I think we'll be getting the rain.

BBC TV Weather showed the SE corner as being breezy but dry tomorrow?

It's one of these nowcasting events - like they all are! Anyone in the SE that gets snow will receive it in a shower, not an organised band.

Russia wins Top Trumps this Winter.

Oymyakon, Siberia, this week hit -67c.

Close to an all-time record for a human settlement.

On a similar note, the charts are currently tinkering with a weather evolution that is eerily similar to 1947 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_of_1946%E2%80%9347_in_the_United_Kingdom) .

Not saying it's going to happen - but very interesting!

Outside Glasgow. 2 inches of snow and still falling.
Luckily today is a day off so I may go play in the snow later.

Nothing happening. Metoffice still have me under a black cloud with double snowflakes and other than a light dusting that's it.

Same here (Rossendale not far from you) - there's a bit but it's made me stay at home as I don't want to risk getting my car thumped and all of the insurance aggro. As soon as the weather gets like this I end up being stuck at home (even though I've got winter tyres and AWD)

That winter is also cited as a factor in the devaluation of the pound from $4.03 to $2.80.

$4.03!

The Cat and Fiddle Pass between Macc & Buxton is still open:

http://www.maccinfo.com/cat/index.html

If you click on the webcam image it flicks to the shop and pub at Flash on the Buxton to Leek road.
Not exactly Siberia, but I have decided not to go there topless today. nono

Not the thermometer, the person with frozen eye lashes.
