Good to see Scotland getting a proper Winter.

Aviemore, Central Scotland, got something like 40cm of fresh snow in the past 24hrs. Parts of Western Scotland (around Glencoe) expecting 100cm at altitude before the week is out.

Next period of interest is overnight tonight. A low pressure system (not as strong as first feared) will pass across the north of England. Warm air will be dragged up in front and south of it. Cold air will be dragged down behind and from the north - along with precipitation. Heavy snow and an amber weather warning for NE England, up to the Central Belt in Scotland.

Down South, we'll get the big winds and big rain.

Gits.

No rain here in Brighton, just sun. They were jogging along the front today with their tops off.

Unfortunately not.

They were however out in their convertibles, brown skin shining in the sun, hair combed back and sunglasses on.

Not Wayfarers then? I guess you can't have everything, even in Brighton.

I don't know if they were Wayfarers or not but they were certainly smiling at everyone.
Which was nice.

Not all of it. No snow what so ever in Aberdeenshire - usually the case when the weather comes from the West frown

Oldham, who border us, name all of their's too. They've got Nick Gritshaw, Gritney Spears, Nicole Saltslinger etc.

Unsurprisingly they've not opted to name one Gary Gritter!

Very high winds here (NW) must be gusting to 70mph.

Neighbours tin shed is in the garden on its side and making a sound like rolf Harris's wobble board.

Bloody hell, my house is making creaks and rattles I’ve never heard before - hope it blows over soon but Met Office says it’s gonna get worse over the next hour or so - yikes

Bit breezy here Cambs/Beds birder. One of my dogs is not liking it and being very vocal about it.

That might prove inconvenient if you sleep naked.

Bit breezy in Beds/Herts border.

I can hear one of the garden bins rolling around.

Crikey it's dangerous out there.

Bits of trees flying all over the place, and my usual route into work blocked by a fallen tree.
