Snowing here in North Hampshire. No chance of it settling, though

There's a few flakes coming down in Leicester, but only a sprinkling has settled and it's due to turn to rain soon.

Yup, sticking quite nicely too now biggrin
Very altitude dependent, down in the town 20m altitude, it's just rain, occasionally a bit slushy, nothing on the ground, at home Hartlebury Cmn, 35mish, definitely sleet, heading off into Shropshire, get to 75m and the road is not clear, in the forest 120m and decent squeaky snow, though if not careful some real boot topping muddy puddles underneath.

Can see if it carries on, when starts to cool off about 2pm then we will get something decent again.

Though can do without the idiots who just pull out of junctions as you are approaching, they can't get traction to get going, but you have to find grip to slow down and avoid their incompetence. Time and again, and just for the record I am not barreling along.

Due to the storm a wolf has escaped from a local wolf sanctuary - Gulp!
Village over from me. I was jolly surprised when it came on the R2 news this morning!
Here is the cheeky prankster:

Loads of schools on lockdown, yet the wolf apparently walked through a field of sheep at one point. He was coaxed back by staff from the sanctuary. He managed 8 miles!
My wife has been on a Walking With Wolves experience at this place. They say that these creatures have a really undeserved reputation.

When they are introduced to the visitors they give them a once over to check them out. This sometimes involves standing up with their front paws on your shoulders to check your breath, nose to nose!

The people there say that it is very rare for the wolves to take a dislike to a visitor, but there have been occasions when a person for some reason caused the wolves distress, and they had to be escorted out of the enclosure, with the rest of the party crowded tightly round them. eek
I love the sanctuary, and moreso love the fact that on a full moon I can hear them howling. Sitting out in the summer with a drink and hearing the wolves is great biggrin

8 miles isn't bad at all! That's one of my walking routes. smile
Beautiful and clever animals.

There is a pack of 8-10 semi-wild wolves living along the Shropshire-Wales border. Amazing to hear them howling at night.

Given domestic dogs kill 5000-15000 sheep and 2-5 humans and injure 1000-3000 people every year, it's surprising that so many people are petrified of wolves. They don't do anywhere near that kind of damage in countries where wolves are more widespread. They really should re-wild wolves in the UK.

Been snowing for hours now in South Holland (Lincolnshire). It's finally beginning to settle.

Glad we took our daughter to York for a day out yesterday.
