ECM is on board. Time to make sure the boiler can cope.
Even some of the more conservative bods in the North West thread on the Netweather forum are getting excited and they tend to be pretty pessimistic.

I’m going to call it a stupid fat mess of a front that couldn’t deliver cold and lots of snow to central Scotland if it tried...

Go on front, prove me wrong. winkhehe
Oi, Scotland's had more than enough snow, time for us southerners to get a bit!

I’m not a weather geek by any means, but I follow this thread, which inspired me to have a poke about in the geek forums.

All I’m gonna say is bounce

There will be a lot of ramping going on.

I'm trying to play it calm. But as things stand, we're on the brink of something pretty historic.

There, I'm leaving it at that. No more ramping.

I'm supposed to be driving a load of chickens to Reading from Cheshire on Saturday morning - do I need to be making new plans?

Too late in the season to be like those years. But sustained and bitterly cold with risk of substantial snow.

Saturday for chicken shipping is fine, but cold. Proper cold starts Sunday, as we stand now.

Looking like Monday for brass monkey weather.

Edit. The worst of it that is, several days either side cold as well.

It's still only Tuesday.
Plenty of time for models to go awry again and for climbdowns to happen.

I'll believe it when the front door is snowed in again.

Puggit, serious advice please...

Need to drive:

Yorkshire Dales to Goodwood @ 0500 Feb 26th

Goodwood to Yorkshire Dales @ 1100 Feb 28th

The return trip is absolutely non negotiable, I'd have to borrow a chinook if pressed.

Am I dooooooomed?
