A few flakes in Chatham this morning, and a few flurries around the M25.

Nothing in Watford yet

Concerned about Melman Giraffe if this extremely light fluffly stuff continues in the Windsor area.

Snow shovel finally out of shed, some of the grit I bought years ago now covering the outside path and pavement. Fridge and freezer stocked. Kitchen bin emptied so hopefully oh doesn't fill it up in evening when -10 and already in pyjamas.

Think I'm set laugh met office showing nothing serious though, Suspect this beast from the east wk just be cold temperatures rather than serious snow here.

ICON (a not very well thought of model) predicts this for Friday. This smallish area of low pressure would mean snowmeggeddon for the South. No one is calling it yet, but it's certainly getting interesting.

Having seen the impending snowmaggedon I decide on Sat night (after the rugby and associated drinking) that I needed a snow shovel delivered asap via Amazon Prime.

Oh how everyone laughed on Sunday when a perfectly normal shovel arrived - it seems I couldn't see my phone very well Sat night

If it comes down heavy we're staying at home!

We saw a brief (2 mins) flurry here on the very east of the east.

Looks quite nice and bright out there now to be honest frown

What's interesting, though, is that both UKMO & ECM hint at the secondary low (although, they have it further south and west), so there is something in what ICON has picked up on.

IMO, GFS is far too progressive in moving the low to the West on Thursday. In all the years I've been looking at the charts, GFS bolts too early and moves everything too far west, as that's what it's programmed to do, being a North American based model. It then backtracks to, generally, align with what UKMO & ECM show (I normally figure that a hybrid of those two is pretty much bang on the money)
