Still pretty warm though (Lancs).
Since I have been working away plus a load of holidays it's worked out quite well as I thought I'd just seed a new lawn area instead of turfing it. It's coming up a treat and saved me a load of work cool

Britain's last patch of Winter snow (in Scotland) melted a few days ago. Only the 6th time in 100 years where snow has not survived from one year to the next.

There's a graphic in this tweet which shows an area of low pressure swallowing Lee and then Maria - Monday looks pretty bad:

Guaranteed snow this winter - I have sold my AWD and will be relying on my aged V70 auto (the winter setting will save me).

Is that implying a low above Scotland? Bad weather for the West and north then?

That's the most likely scenario. But the wet weather may well be further south as Maria and Lee's moisture (ooer) is in the southern part of the low pressure.

I note today Maria and Lee are combining into the fearful mega-storm, called erm, "Brian", and it's headed our way.

For weather watchers - I really like this website for tracking and predicting tropical storms in the caribbean and south east Asia.

I like how they've reported that.
Metro said:
All of the snow in Britain has melted only six times in the past 300 years – in 1933, 1953, 1959, 1996, 2003 and 2006.
So - 84 years really.

Shhh, Mr GrimNasty will hear and start telling everyone off for talking about climate change.

In terms of long term forecast, I've bought a new car which isn't running winters on it for the first time in 4 years - 4 dreary, largely snowless years. So I know exactly how this winter is going to go.

I broke our current snow by getting new tyres on Friday. It appears to have given up after an inch in Denver.

Not the best picture of it, but you hopefully can see where the thin layer of snow is (first snow pic of the thread, bounce)

Hey, I saw it. I'd post a pic, but it would be of the inside of my window well as I'm now working in the finished basement.

Ex hurricane Ophelia is to bring some windy weather and a bit of rain.

Worth keeping an eye on, or will it blow over quickly?

Red warnings for much of Ireland. Amber for NI.

This is as bad as a bad winter storm.

Scotland will see some of it too
