Melgarve, halfway between Fort William and Aviemore, Western-Central Scotland, on one of the higher passes, earlier today.

Now that's some snow,

We had about an inch in Ashbourne yesterday morning when I woke up, drove in to Derby there was nothing....

Weather reports are "saying" we got about 8cm's coming on Sunday.... heavy snow from about 4am right thru till dinner then light snow after for the rest of the day.

No winter tyres on the 530 so looks like her lads xc60 is taking me to work

Glencoe has camper parking by the base station with electric hookup £15 a night, or free in the car park if you have your own heating! Glencoe also has a bar/cafe thats open in the eve & a pub thats a good walk down the valley. Glenshee I believe have camper spots but not confirmed it, The Lecht, Nevis etc all have parking. Have a couple of friends with Hymers who head up for the pow a few times a year.

Main issue would be weather access when its forecast to dump, the snow roads are often closed in big weather so stock up well & or park outside a pub for a lock in lol. (depending on which way your coming) I'd head to Tomintoul and base myself there if its dumping pow on the trip up & the snow gates are closed, its about half hour to Glencoe when the road is open

What's handy with Scotland/campers is none of the resorts are far apart, I like the Vosges in France for the same reason.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. beer Thinking about the logistics, with 3 kids, we're better off sticking with something less wild. Current plan is an Aire with power in the middle of La Plagne.

Been snowing in Macc for quite some time, so we're getting a good base now. Weather's closed in and forecasts show moderate/heavy snow on/off for the next 36 hrs. Met a friend for dinner last night who'd travelled over the top from Disley, he said road conditions were quite poor, but it appears as of now that all roads are open. Well done the council!

Forecast is all over the place. Changing by the hour.

Current indication is that it will boot down with snow on Sunday from roughly Snowdonia to Luton, with rain mostly everywhere south of that band. Snow unlikely to stay for long, as it will warm up on Mon to Weds.

I am flying from Heathrow on Mon, and it looks like rain, thankfully. Good old global warming and chemtrails thumbup

At least the tracks in the snow make it easier to hunt down those wild haggiseseses! yum

Not really, that would just be a normal day. 5cm doesn't close down everything, wink

As Yipper says, tomorrow's snow has nudged south a little. I don't think we'll get in to play in the M4 corridor frown

Monday is too minor to worry about, the South may see occasional light showers - so perhaps your first snow of the season but certainly nothing to disrupt.

Living on the south west coast I hate these threads. We’ll never see snow down here, bit rubbish.

I’m about 4 hours north of that, so can’t help.

I suggest you look at the traffic cams

Carter, are you north of Applecross?

Your pictures always remind me of that area.
