The hawk eyed will have noticed a nudge further south on the right hand chart. Looking like the M4 corridor might squeak in on the action - after a lot of rain has fallen. I doubt there'll be much settling, but we might get a few hours of snow in the afternoon.

Now, if there's another nudge south in the charts... wink

Long term is very hopeful for continued cold - I've even seen charts forecasting snow on Xmas Eve (not to be believed at this point!!)

Netweather now predicting sleet followed by snow, followed by some more sleet and then a bit more snow.

Nice to know the cold will continue, gives us a better chance for a snowy January!

New forecast for Macc is moderate snow on Sunday, heavy snow now shifts to Wednesday...and snow on Christmas Day. Staying cold the whole time.

Nothing yet showing for snow in London, and as we all know, it hasn't really snowed in the UK unless London gets some!

We’re in for a blasting in north Hampshire tomorrow. BBC are forecast 55mph wind and heavy rain around lunchtime, with light snow from about 5pm

Latest info on the charts, agreed by GFS and ECM, showing some staggering snow totals by Monday evening... Wiltshire, Hampshire and West Berks suddenly brought in to the picture. Until the MetOffice confirms, I'm hesitant to party...

We are right in that 8-12 inches sector to the south west of Birmingham. As always amazing how local height variations change things. On the Friday fall, in town about 40m elevation just a light covering, higher up where we are a good few cms, up in the forest near Shropshire border, only 10 minutes away, was getting on for thick end of a foot in places. More when you went across the border.

Sunday should be interesting.

Good chart from Puggit.

Powys Council, Central Wales, is this evening saying tomorrow will be their biggest snow event for several decades.

Depends where you are - but the event for the Midlands (and now including the M4, hopefully) is due to start tomorrow afternoon, overnight in to Monday.

The rain is arriving in the South, turning freezing temps in to a few degrees above zero. As the low pressure system starts to sink south, it's due to drag some cooler air in - turning rain to sleet and snow.

Will hit West Wales around 1am, Brum around 3am, and Luton 5am.
