That's top of my wife's 'if we have a boy' list.

I'm 42 and an Alexander (known as Alex, I've never been called Alexander), there were a few other Alexanders when I was at school and absolutely loads of Andrews; 3 in my form alone.

I've not heard of an Andrew on anyone under the age of about mid 30's, certainly not for a child.

My youngest (18), has quite a few female friends called Alex, but no males with that name.

My eldest (25 in a week) is Frances, I've only ever encountered one other Frances of a similar age as her, all others have been old ladies.
My 14 year old son has two friends called Alex. One boy, one girl.
My friend's toddler is called Frances. My autocorrect always goes for Francis... redface

Top of our list too! What made it stick out to me was when we went to a Rememberance Service last year and from a list of about 40 names they read out, 3 of those were Walters. Also, we both love Breaking Bad too smile

How long would it take for him to learn how to sleep with one eye open?

Offspring is "Michael Victor".
We don't know anyone called Victor and "Vulcan" was veto'd.

The way I see it, he has a number of nickname options he can exercise at a later date.

That's a "thing that annoys me beyond reason".

My son is Max. Everybody calls him Max or Maxi but his real name is Maximilian. He has a "proper" name and the choice to use it as and when he likes; something not afforded to those with shortened versions of names on their birth certificates.

Also, one of his middle names comes from the list above (Arthur). A lot of those names are common in my grandparents' generation and are making a comeback thanks to family ties. A friend of mine has a son called Stanley and I even know of a toddler by the name of Eric!
by the time the kids are adults it will be so normal that no one will bat an eyelid

I'm a Roy, and in all the jobs I've had I've never worked with another Roy.

I also quite like the name Tristan, maybe due to my reading a lot of James Herriot books whilst growing up.

My dad too. I suggested it for our son, but my wife wasn't having it. Ironically, we ended up naming him after my dad's dad, Samuel.

I'm nearly 50 and hardly ever met another Alex until a few years ago. Now there are loads of 'em!

Ken means 'I know', or 'you know' in Fife parlance.

Daisy!

Where have you been living for the last ten years that you don't hear off hundreds of Daisy's. It's consistently right up the top of the most popular names lists, especailly 3-7 years ago.

Somewhere in the UK, there is a chap in his mid 40s, eating his lunch, blissfully unaware that he is the youngest person in the UK to be named Malcolm.

Names come and go out of fashion on about a 50 year cycle it seems. For instance, my wife is called Kerry - it was a common name for girls born in the early 1980s. In 2015, according to ONS, there were 3 girls named Kerry. Yes. Three. All year.

Having said this, there is a woman who works in my office. She's in her mid 20s, and named Doris. Previously, I'd never met anybody under the age of 75 called Doris.

Our lad (5 months old) is Benjamin Hudson. Pretty pleased with it, we call him Ben but his birth certificate is Benjamin.

Hudson comes from my wife's family, was a bit of a tradition that the first born son had Hudson as his middle name, alas my wife's uncle broke the cycle with his son so we decided to resurrect it.

Also when anyone asks how he got his name I can cite two of my Sci-fi heroes

If we had had a girl I wanted to call her Astrid but wife wasn't keen frown
