Evening all!

Mrs9 wanted to watch some 'Top of The Lake' on our Samsung Smart TV. She logged into the Amazon app (built-in) and it wants £1.79 for an SD episode and more for HD.

She already has Prime and has been watching it (free) on her Samsung tablet.

Why does it appear to be charged on one device and not the other, despite being the same login, same show, same account etc?

We watched Lucifer via the Amazon app for 'free' on that TV a few months back but it looks like the app has updated (maybe) and we had to log back in.

Anyone heard of this/ come across it?

Thanks,

Dom

She's laying next to me now and swears she was watching it on Prime, a few days ago.

This isn't the new/ recent series but the 'old' one.

It might have just run its course on Prime and moved back into on demand. Most of the films in my list that were Prime when I selected them are now paid.

That's the conclusion I'm coming to - massively unlucky, in which case, as she won't pay for them I suspect!

Box set for Christmas then smile

It wants to charge me too. Is S2 not still on iPlayer? I wonder if it’s come off now and that’s why amazon took it off prime.

She does! I'm wondering if she got confused with her apps...

The problem is Amazon prime tv is pretty poor in all honesty.

About 90% of whtbi want to watch needs to be paid for. Netflix, for that reason, gets my thumbs up.

If you press the B button whilst in the Amazon app on a Samsung smart telly you can change the filtering to 'included with Prime only'

Agree, you'd think Prime membership would let you watch everything, not impressed with the TV/Film side of Prime at all.

There’s a few good bits on there like Halt & catch fire that I’m watching at the moment, and a few other decent geek series but overall not as good as Netflix IMO.

I believe she now does think she was watching Netflix!

This has brought great shame upon the family frown

I'd also agree that we watch hardly anything on Prime.

In fact; Lucifer is the only thing I can think of in a year!

That made me laugh. smile

I'm going to Black Sails at the moment on Prime - quite enjoying it.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't have bothered paying for Prime Video alone. I only do though because its bundled in with the postage advantages and I buy a LOT from Amazon.

That said, a friend was showing me the benefits of Netflix last week too... but where do you stop? There are so many content vendors out there now and there's so little crossover. If you're a serious TV-watcher (I unashamedly confess to this) then it could get expensive quickly.

It’s annoying that things aren’t all on one service. But then Amazon + Netflix is like £15 a month ish and how much is Sky etc?
