I think its quite clear-a supposedly all knowing, all powerful god who made a universe in less than a week, had all his thoughts written down 2000 or more years ago, but was NOT able to mention to his followers that they will need to think about electricity,LEDs etc, in the future. Maybe put in a commandment about things to come, & how to deal with them, as an all knowing, all powerful god!
because it does seem very odd that aforementioned all knowing, all powerful god in his book only mentions things that would have been known to the bronze age authors...no bacteria, black holes, planets apart from those visible, no mention of China or America or Australia(no marsupials in the ark eh Noah, missed a few there old fella!), sod all beyond the middle east
Its almost as if the authors were merely....human!
But to be fair, if the bible had details of how to make something like an internal combustion engine, it wouldn't have done much good 2000 years ago & may have caused a certain amount of confusion.because it does seem very odd that aforementioned all knowing, all powerful god in his book only mentions things that would have been known to the bronze age authors...no bacteria, black holes, planets apart from those visible, no mention of China or America or Australia(no marsupials in the ark eh Noah, missed a few there old fella!), sod all beyond the middle east

We recently went to a safari park for a day out and there were a lot of Jews knocking about. My observations include:
They do like to wear black.
They are a bit dim, as entering the lion enclosure with your windows down isn't the smartest thing to do (the keeper shouted after them but not sure if they heard him!)
One of them had set up a small tent (like a portaloo size thing) that I couldn't work out the need for?

Maybe it was a portaloo. They do like to wear black.

It's a Jewish tradition - "Daniel entering the Lion's Den".They are a bit dim, as entering the lion enclosure with your windows down isn't the smartest thing to do (the keeper shouted after them but not sure if they heard him!)
By the way I've heard Jewish people called many things but it's the first time I've heard them called "dim". Still, it makes a change from them being in charge of the New World Order....

Probably fair to say that, like any other identifiable group, Jews are not a monolithic block, some will be pretty dim, but the group has won about 20% of the Nobel prizes ever awarded, so...
If we accept (as I guess we do) that Jews are over-achievers as measured by numbers of Nobel winners, is not the flip side to ask why other groups are under-achievers? It is not as if Jews have had a particularly easy ride either (especially in lifts on Fridays). OP, you might be interested to learn that Hackney council are planning on building flats with "religious compliant features" in Stamford Hill.
They will include "lifts which do not require manual operation on Shabbat, open balconies to accommodate temporary enclosures during the religious holiday of Sukkot, and separate kitchens which can be easily adapted to kosher requirements."
Guardian link, of course.

As soon as someone gets around to inventing stairs this problem will go away.
Exodus 20 verse 26 - don't put them anywhere near Jehovah's altar!The Bible said:
And do not go up to my altar on steps, or your private parts may be exposed.
So I guess they will have to construct some kind of ramp for the time being. Or wear pants.

I'm not sure a ramp is going to solve the problem of glimpsing the priest's dangly bits.
