I'm just glad that Goaty was here to take the heat away from my purchase.

Looks like I've managed to dodge the Green Giant and Robin Hood gags.
I really like them. However, as discussed on previous pages, although they look good in isolation, it'd be tricky to find a situation where you'd wear them in preference to the equivalent in brown and consequently you don't end up wearing them so often. Was the main reason I decided not to buy some Loake chukkas in green/khaki colour recently (as already have them in brown, tan and berry).

Do you have a green belt to match?

Quite restrained by his standards I thought hehe

I think he secretly likes them, and is a bit jealous

ETA
New & Lingwood currently has a 20% off sale.
I was told it covered everything in the shop. Not sure for how many days, and may require a visit in person.

Frankly, I am amazed I managed to get out of there with just the one pair of shoes!

I'm on it, but I'm struggling. This is the closest I have found so far;

People don't seem to make many green belts! What did Robin Hood wear to keep his slacks up?

Tights. He wore tights in all the films.
You'll look gorgeous biggrin

hehe

Definitely a bit avant-garde. Probably need something less snakey and more suedey.

This on Amazon might be worth a look though.

Advice please. Came to wear my Tricker's for the first time and have realised that where the vamp creases it digs into the top of my foot, around the base of the big toe. This is not comfortable. I am generally of the opinion that if a shoe doesn't feel right at first it isn't right. That said, these are a pretty stiff leather, is it likely they will break in and this problem will go away? If I'm going to have to sell them on, I'd prefer to do it now whilst they're 'new' than after I've scuffed them up!

I agree with you, shoes that feel right first wear tend to be comfortable always. It's not a 100% golden rule, but good guide.

No. In my experience if they don't fit it just gets worse.

That particular problem will not fix itself. It is caused by too much space over the vamp and no amount of wear will solve it. In fact, the more the insole moulds to your foot the bigger the problem will become.

If it needs further confirmation; I believe InductionRoar and the others are absolutely correct. It will likely get worse rather than better.

I'm inclined to agree with the other posters, with one caveat that mine were incredibly hard to break in compared to the usual competitors. Depends on which you have but my Stow took about a year I think, way way longer than I'd have expected and considered just giving up more than once!

I'm about 2/2.5 years in with them now and they're very comfortable but I've not had another boot that was so tough from the factory. As always your experiences may vary...

Don't think so. We tried a few years ago to get an actual board for sartorial matters, but it was about the time Pistonheads stopped giving a stuff about anything and it never got anywhere.

I still think it would be a good idea though.

Try again. If it doesn’t work then search for “are you well dressed?”

Edit - can’t get it work
