Didn't realise Barbour did st Hunter copies.
Aren't Hunters a bit st themselves nowadays?I had a pair of Hunters that were 35 years old and still waterproof but with a broken side strap, so I bought a new pair. They looked the same but lasted 18 months or so.
I got Dunlop wellies for a tenner. Use them almost daily for dog walking, never had an issue.

A proper wellie. No one has need for anything else. Shooting, farming or going into the City. I purchased these a couple of months ago for winter use. Really impressed, comfortable from day 1, waterproof and stylish. A true all-rounder I can wear anywhere.

Popped into the local TK Maxx on the offchance and ended up with these:
£79 (seconds, nothing noticeable on them) so happy with them for work. Only trouble is the right one is a fraction tight round the toes so I could do with suggestions on how to squeeze them ever so slightly please?
Shoe trees? Do I need to spend much on them?
Spray?
Hair dryer?
thanks

Utter, utter st.
Dunlops are good for concreting and stuff but they don't stand up so you can't walk into them. You want good wellies, go into a gun/hunting shop and buy some neoprene uppers ones from whoever they recommend.

Nice.
Your local shoe repair place should have a shoe stretcher thingy. They will ease them out on the machine for a few quid. More effective than anything I've tried at home.

Use a Broom handle, brace it and work it, warms and eases the leather. £79 (seconds, nothing noticeable on them) so happy with them for work. Only trouble is the right one is a fraction tight round the toes so I could do with suggestions on how to squeeze them ever so slightly please?

Any tips as to how to get scuffs out of light leather? I don't really want to use a dark polish and impact the colour. I have used a lighter polish but scuffs are still there.
I am not saying this will work necessarily, but my wife had some patent shoes with scuffs. As a "kill or cure" solution I rubbed them down with WD40. The scuffs have gone, largely.janesmith1950 said:
Any thoughts on Ecco shoes?
Until quite recently I considered them pensioner shoes. However they had a pair of trainers in the exact colour I wanted last year so I bought them. I have bought another pair this year in a different colour.Whilst I think Jeremy Corbyn probably favours their shoes, some of them don't have the whiff of oldie about them and they seem well made.
