Go for it. I love the idea of everyone you wear them in front of pissing themselves laughing, and then keeling over unable to breathe with laughter when you tell them how much you paid for them.
I mean what would you even wear them with? Dad jeans? A work suit? Fancy dress?
I have been wearing mine regularly for 3 years and have never had any such reaction; quite the opposite has been the reality in fact.I mean what would you even wear them with? Dad jeans? A work suit? Fancy dress?
I have worn mine with a navy and pink pinstripe suit, traditional high waisted brown wool trousers and jacket or high waisted light tan cotton trousers and searsucker jackets in the summer.
They are far more flexible than one might initially imagine, though I have never considered wearing them with jeans.
Principally because I don't think that would work very well and partly because I don't own a pair of jeans. (well I might, but I haven't seen them in 10 years if I do)
@craigjm (hat noob) I wear fedoras, not trilbies.

Navy and pink stripe suit you say. Sounds punchy.
It is a bit Eddy Robinson I'll admitSadly the tailor had used up all of that cloth by the time I saw the suit, and I had to make do with his re-tailored demo off the rack.
It's still beautiful, but I would have far preferred the jacket to have been double breasted.

personally i'd not put my shoes which have been outside on the ground walking through all sorts on top of the table or on my work, but that's just me. Goaty Bill 2 said:

The pink, especially in the lining and the pocket square, are actually much more vibrant and the navy is navy.
Terrible photo, but after 4 attempts I don't think it's going to get any better.

You need better lighting. I suggest petrol and a match. The pink, especially in the lining and the pocket square, are actually much more vibrant and the navy is navy.

I've always struggled with Loakes too (and Barkers come to that) for fit and comfort. It may be a last-thing, but I avoid them now.
Well there appears to be a common consensus here certainly with regards to Loake and also Barker, that they will always feel about as comfortable as wearing wooden clogs. So, can anyone recommend me any quality gents shoemakers around the £150-250 area that will actually be comfortable whilst looking the part?
I've had 4 pairs of Loakes from 1880 range and all fitted like a glove from day 1.
Bought a pair of Cheaney's and they have been a nightmare to bed in ..... for me.
I'd be surprised if someone just entering the world of decent shoes heads straight to G&G. I suggest something from Loake/Barker as a starting point. I also quite like Berwick 1707 which you can get from https://www.afinepairofshoes.co.uk/ with 10% off on first order.
