Mine were some kind of factory return, tried once and rejected. Cost me A LOT less than the comedy list price.
Need to save some money to stock the humidor.
Always a fine balance. A pair of Gaziano & Girling or a couple boxes of Cubans? Or...Need to save some money to stock the humidor.
A pair of C&J and one box of Cubans?
On a related note; there has been activity in the cigar thread in the last couple of weeks...

I’ve got a pair of their little brothers, purchased I think from a Timberland shop in London (New Bond Street?), early to mid nineties. These have the Vibram sole.pistolpedro said:
Thanks for sharing the pic I didn’t realise they were also available in a shoe, they’re looking in fine fettle for 25
I don’t get out much, at least not unsupervised GB2, I was going to comment on the rug but then thought no, quite like it, seems to have got a 50s Festival of Britain vibe about it?😆
The rug was originally for my daughters bedroom but she decided she wanted something fluffier so it was relegated to another part of the house, it’s a Kilim rug, I have quite a few different ones as I like the bold colours and patterns they’re very affordable as well
I can see where your coming from re Festival of Britain, I was given a few books about the event a number of years ago, found the whole thing fascinating so much so I ended up picking up a couple of Ernest Race pieces as a result

Sometimes makes one wonder if the thread was appropriately named.
Threads gone quiet lately so I thought I'd display my new purchase.
I've used Samuel Windsor probably 10 times.
They do larger sizes - these are a 14! And for the price the quality is outstanding.
These were £49.95 less 20% in there current sale but bizarrely (and happily) I was charged £32.95 including delivery.
I also ordered a pair of Oxblood Chelsea boots but out of stock in my size.
Apologies for the rug.

I like those, and they're a steal at that price. Not a colour I'd have chosen but a nice shoe. I've used Samuel Windsor probably 10 times.

New shoes today which I am pretty sure are the same as the ones I posted a few pages back but in suede instead of leather.
Mainly posting to show of the lovely carpet in my office (was there when we bought the place, honest)
ETA: that is a really crap photo that makes the toe look shiney and the rest furry, they are not like this IRL.....

Just had a terrible experience with Meermin
Ordered these from their website:
Read loads about the sizing, the different lasts, the history, where they are manufactured, etc.
They turned up and the first thing I noticed was that horrible china smell when I opened the box. Really nasty.
Then I spotted several imperfections, chief amongst was a very nasty cutout in the bridge over the vamp.
But even worse was the fit. I have exact measurements of my foot and generally I'm very good at buying stuff online (also I'm really not picky and basically everything fits me) and the Nova last sounded great for me, but it was just about the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever tried on.
Now with Meermin you do have to pay the postage when you return an order and also you have to pay the return label (or a return fee).
They offered to give you a store credit which included the original shipping but after that smell I was not keen on trying anything else from them.
Now a couple days after everything is sorted, I received an invoice for VAT and tax
So that is £15 for postage; £15 for return and £40 for VAT/tax/handling out the window. £70 fk (£ = CHF as I'm in Switzerland, so also non EU)
Yes, I know I could fight this as I exported them back to EU, but honestly it is not worth the hassle... Also you'd have to pay first and then try to get something back....
This way the Meermin has become the most expensive shoe I ever owned £70 for 30 seconds of wear in front of the mirror
I ordered some Skolyx loafers in black grain leather, since I was after some inexpensive, casual black leather loafers with a rubber sole....
The Skolyx I ordered where not available, I went for some Doucal's tassel loafer in darn brown grain leather. Ordered on Yoox for £150 incl. 1 day express shipping from Italy!
I was after some inexpensive loafers with a rubber sole as a boat shoe alternative. They are cemented soles of course, but quite comfortable and the perfect shoes for an upcoming Rome trip the coming weekend
