Perhaps not to everyone’s taste, but our summer Holiday is less than two weeks away, so needed something I could wear around the pool and not worry about them constantly getting wet!

Don't think, just do it.

It's the future.

Indeed, very on trend right now, especially with shorts / shirt combo for a summer smart casual look.

It's all about the tassel loafers [/biased].

Mine have arrived, wife thinks they look a bit PIMP. biggrin

Socks vs no socks I suppose depends on the outfit/occasion. For work, I'd probably wear socks, I'm not Sprezzatura enough for the sockless look. Can anyone recommend some decent extra low no show socks? The ones I have, although great with trainers are still not low enough for my loafers (tassel or penny).

New pair of Barker calf captoe oxfords.

Got some Cheaney double monks arriving later on today.

I actually quite like the socks combo. Depends on the outfit like stated tho.

^^^^^ Try some Puma ones. They’re very low and cheap too. No one will see them once on.

Anyone here have any George Cleverly shoes? They have some fantastic looking pairs. I got married in a pair last year, but can’t seem to locate where they’ve gone!

Sockless is not a good look at all. I went to a 30th birthday party the other day and all the "stylish gents" had opted for cheap loafers/velvet slippers with no socks.

Cary Grant is renowned as being sartorially aware and he wore socks with loafers - his attire in North by Northwest being a prime example.

No socks and I’m pretty sure he isn’t wearing American Tan tights either..laugh

How long ago was Cary Grant doing his stuff? Fifty years or so? It’s all very well consulting with our forbears for what is and is not acceptable, but things move on. To emulate them too closely becomes a pastiche.
