I ordered a pizza a few days ago from a large national pizza shop that has overpriced pizzas with lots of discounts.

They didn't have a discount that suited me, and I was starving and didn't have time for anything else, so I ordered one for about £18 which is stupid money for a pizza.

It arrived cold, soggy and with completely wrong toppings - I'm pretty sure I got someone else's pizza, although the label/toppings list on the box was correct for the pizza I ordered.
I couldn't eat any of the toppings, some because they were disgusting and others I'm allergic to. I ended up not eating.

I called the branch the next day, they said that because I paid with paypal I need to email their head office for a refund.
I emailed the head office... No reply.
So I raised a paypal dispute... No reply.
So I asked paypal to take over the case, and they said they'd make a final decision after a response from the pizza shop... No reply.

PayPal eventually made their final decision without hearing from the pizza company, and their decision is "We are unable to take any action on this case because it is not covered under PayPal Buyer Protection."

I paid for one product, and received a different and unsuitable product. How is that not covered???

How do I get my money back?

Credit card chargeback?

I understand your frustration but isn't this one of those accept it and move on/bigger fish to fry times?

BTW, said large national chains (initials: D and PH) its about £3 for a 12" pizza in Australia, I've never been able to accept the incredulous prices here.

If I hadn't actually checked it before the delivery guy left, then I'd have been on the phone the minute I did open it.

Leave it to the next day, and I'm not surprised they're sceptical. Don't tell me you binned it, so there's not even any proof?

Why didn't you call them the same day when the (clearly incorrect) pizza arrived?

Less PH but shirley frisbeeing the frozen pizza would be more fun.

I have done this in the past, and had excellent success at either securing a refund, or a new pizza, or both. It happens infrequently enough not to put me off ordering in future.

I ordered a pizza last week and it came with no cheese.

I called the store and a new one was delivered within 20 minutes.

Why didn’t you just do that?

This.

Why use email to resolve this?

My thoughts as well. You got the wrong pizza and didn’t bother calling straight away? Strange.

A few months ago I bought a 1 pound pizza in Asda ,it had 1/3 of the topping missing ,I still ate most of it and it wasn't good.

I didn't complain.

Last week I spotted and bought a 60p pizza in Asda ,I didn't expect much but it was better than the 1 pound thing.

Fine dining always at Grigio mansions.....lick

For £18 life is too short just move on.

You knew it was a rip off even before paying. Just congratulate yourself on having the correct initial thought and move on.
